A small group of nuns have their faith tested when they are sent to the remote Himalayas to open a mission in what was a former harem. Memory and desire come to fore in a sexually charged atmosphere, with one of the nuns going literally mad with lust. A genuine classic that exudes atmosphere, beauty and tension.

visually stunning & well acted. Kerr is excellent as the frustrated Mother Superior & whatever happened to Kathleen Byron who was a stand out? Interesting cameo by Jean Simmons as a native girl.
