Loved loved it. Simple story I guess but with food for thought. Well intertwined between the war and the going back. That was easy to follow. I thought Clemence Poesy's part well played but her but of course Eddie AMAZING. Would recommend and have.
A hugely tragic tale - you will need to be in the mood. Eddie Redmayne may be one of the most intense actors ever. His eyes are just so penetrating and expressive. The war scenes are pretty realistic and not for the faint hearted. Clemence Poesy? What can I say? She seems to ALWAYS play the neurotic, weak sparrow with a look on her face like she might have a nervous breakdown at any moment. EVEN when she's having the most passionate sex! It gets very old very quickly. Truly a shame they didn't choose a different female lead here. It's worth seeing through to the end, even though very slow much of the time. Eddie Redmayne really makes it worthwhile.
