Absolutely loved this movie. The two hours went so fast and I was nearly sorry to see it end. Brilliant cast of actors. I half expected it to drag on or be a bit boring, but nothing could be further from the truth.
India as a backdrop was fascinating and colourful. I laughed out loud in a few parts and was totally entertained. Would highly recommend this movie. If you are into shooting, action and blowing things up, then this is not the movie for you, but if you love a good story, fantastic acting and love to be entertained then watch this movie.

After all the rave reviews this movie had received, and even though I'm of a similar age to most of the leading actors, I have to say I thought it was just okay.... certainly nothing to rave about. Bill Nighy is such a lousy actor, he hardly opens his mouth and puts on the hesitant speech in every part I have seen him play, so much so that I am finding it extremely irritating now because it is such a "put on". This film was a very "light-weight" effort, and I'm sad to say I was quite dissapointed.

This was a glorious movie with a stellar cast and a storylone filled with gentle humour and pathos. Overall, it is a celebration of life and most of the characters were, or learned to be, non-judgemental. It also showed how a new India is emerging, vibrant and with the possibility of better treatment of women and a moving away from hide-bound tradition. I'm sure that this film will leave a long-lasting memory.

I saw this movie at the cinema with a girlfriend when it first came out and loved it. My husband was keen to see it also so after a pretty long wait it was sent to us. Totally enchanting and enthralling film the 2 hours just seem to glide past. A A nice, enjoyable movie - well worth your time.

This is an excellent movie with a basic believable storyline and some outstanding acting. Lots of humour and just about everything else except violence, bad language, etc. That's right, it is not a Hollywood movie, but a British one set in India. It is a must see, particularly for the older generation or for anyone who just likes to see movies as they used to be made.

Quite pleasantly surprised about how entertaining and lovely this movie was. I didn't think I'd enjoy a movie about senior citizens - expecting it to be a cheesy feel good movie that will make me cringe at the dramatic moments. But it was actually quite a smart movie - in the tradition of movies like Love, Actually & Four Weddings ... . This is how to do a ensemble movie! Great acting all around.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was guileless and entertaining! And no, I'm not an oldie but could still appreciate the trials of getting older and having to accept your circumstances. Some hilarious lines and Dev Patel was outstanding. I'd say those of you who didn't quite get this movie should stick to Hollywood blockbusters.

This movie started with top actors and set up well, but didn't go anywhere. There were some amusing lines and some wonderful shots of India, but the morality was childish and the plot was soooo predictable. We knew exactly what was going to happen before it did. Older viewers who are trying to find meaning in their lives may find more in this bit I found cliched characters and a cliched plot.

This is one of the best movies I've ever seen: layers include humour; racism; class; romance x 2; relationship obligations between husband and wife; ageing - all set in the magnificent backdrop of India. The cast is superb. It was great to see it on the big screen and then again twice on the DVD.

It would be interesting to see the ages of the various reviewers for this movie. I would take a guess and say that the younger watchers did not find it as good as us oldies. Certainly a strange plot but quite enjoyable with a number of funny bits. Some boring bits cost it a star so I give it 4 stars.

‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ is one of those quirky movies that the Brits do so well. One scene early on has the cast seated alongside each other at the airport - a gathering of British acting royalty, so how could it miss. Well, of course it doesn’t. It’s a delight from beginning to end. The story is implausible but who cares with a cast that includes Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson and Maggie Smith, the story can be fanciful and over the top and still succeed, which it does.

Loved it, loved it!! First saw it on the plane, but with all disruptions, headphones not working properly etc, I missed a lot of it, so was keen to get it again & boy am so glad I did. A real 5/5 from me, or really more a 10/5!! Loved everything about it, the one liners were absolutely brilliant..........solid performances from all the greats in the cast. Don't miss this one - just wish I could give it more

I thought this was quite well done. Recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad I saw it. Tells the story of several people who come together to find meaning in the later years of their lives. The location is a run-down hotel which has seen better days. Some find what they're looking for while others may not. Maggie Smith is a delight and redeems herself at the end, Judi Dench's character narrates the story, as her character keeps a blog of the journey. For a movie running at almost two hours it flowed nicely. Beautifully shot too, but then with India as one of the star players, it was bound to look good.

Almost didn't watch this - fear of old people maybe - but so glad I did and I watched it twice. Lovely story, great cast, excellent setting, everything going for it - also loved the voice overs from time to time. My favorite thing about this movie is that the story didn't have an actual ending, they just went on with their 'new' lives and left us to imagine what would happen next.

What Can I Say, About This Movie - The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. It was a truly exciting, memoriable and feel-good movie which left an impression on us all. Makes one, reviews one's life and what make that individual special, not material items.
Judi Dench, came to life within this movie and it was a pleasure to watch. Even made myself think and trust, that when I hit my golden-years, I would be able to do, as much as these individuals did, in India.
Highly, Highly and highly reconmend, for the mature folks. Bare in mind, to allow yourself a few hours spare, along with some treats, too.

Better than I expected. In the same sort of sphere as other British rom-coms like Love Actually, except all the main characters are over 55's. But there are a few younger ones too, such as the hotel manager & his girlfriend. Beautifully shot, doing justice to both the poverty, chaos & sheer amazingness of this rapidly emerging country.
