Very mild slapstick violence

Director: Adam Shankman
Actors: Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Guy Pearce, Courteney Cox, Teresa Palmer, Russell Brand, Richard Griffiths

Fantasy and reality collide when hotel handyman Skeeter Bronson (Adam Sandler) reluctantly agrees to look after his niece and nephew in order to help his sister out. To keep them quiet he resorts to storytelling... and in doing so he unwittingly opens the door to their vivid imaginations. Each of the stories takes place in a new fantasy world taking us to the farthest depths of outer space, the rough tumble Wild West, the epic grandeur of ancient Greece and the rich and magical world of medieval Europe. Ultimately, the kids have the last laugh as the events in their make believe bedtime stories magically come true in their uncle's real life with hilarious consequences.

Could be a bit overrated for children, maybe suitable for 10 age group who like the silliness of comedy.

A simple but effective film. Much of it was quite predictable but it was enjoyable despite that.

Oh this movie is an absoute joy!!! Love the raining gumball scene! I don't like Adam Sandler but he is perfect in this role. My daughter and I love the mermaid dancing. If you have children this is a must-see together movie.

am not a fan of Mr Sandler much, he annoys me, but decided to give this a go, having read a couple of reviews....thoroughly enjoyed it and even watched it a second time when my 18 and 16yo kids decided to give it a go...they loved it to.....how nice for a change to see a film that didn't have violence, language and sex in it...a simple story but entertaining at the same time...why aren't more films like this instead of the same repetitious rubbish that is spewed out these days...I like to 'escape' sometimes from the horrors of the real world - this film allowed me to do it.....3 cheers for Bedtime Stories...just wish Hollywood would sit up and take notice

i felt this story left a lot unexplored and that was very dissapointing. however it was a feel good adam sandler movie and a nice change from his previous brand of comedy

Very easy kids film to watch. Adam Sandler plays Adam Sandler (again) and the kids are predictably cheesy, but it is inoffensive and enjoyable enough. Guy Pearce clearly revels in his role and Richard Griffiths (looking like Colonel Sanders) supports. Russell Brand is probably under-utilised, but it might not have been a Disney film if they let him say too much...

Before I watched reviews of this film I had heard many mixed reviews of it - most of them negative and involving comments such as "Sandler's worst film yet" (hard to believe after watching Click!) and "Complete drivel - don't waste your time!". There were a couple of people however who said they still enjoyed it for what it was and it was a good family comedy so I decided to watch it anyway and make up my own mind - sometimes I am surprised to enjoy a film that has recieved a battering. This however, was not a pleasant surprise. The humour used in this film was aimed 90% at the adults and I even found a couple of things completely inappropriate for a child audience - for example when the 4 year old boy say's "she's HOT" in a drooling way over a slutty looking 20 something bimbo character was not only completely unrealistic but also disturbing! In fact the only part of this movie our family found partly amusing was the way sandler said "for freeeeeeeeee?!" when talking about a red ferrari. It was probably a good thing that our children were not in the least bit interested in the film, choosing instead to do some drawings while we endured it alone, because I really would not have wanted their precious young minds being poisoned by this film. Watch it if you like but be warned - you probably won't want the kids to see it! Reserve for children aged 8 years and over (and even then it isn't really all that appropriate). I'm giving it one star for one laugh and I believe that is being more than kind!

Not a typical Adam Sandler movie but i enjoyed it and so did the rest of my family. Although i think Russell Brand was my favourite part of the entire movie. Wasnt expecting to see him in a kids movie! It was your average Disney movie with a bit of a twist.

I actually really liked this film. Having grown up with such Sandler classics as Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore, it's good to see the next generation being able to enjoy him and his comedy style too. Excellent supporting cast all round too. Good for the whole family.
