In an incredible odyssey that stretches from Saigon to New York to Texas, Binh confronts unimaginable hardships as he finds danger, love and, finally, the key to unlocking the mysteries of his past.

An epic story, exotic locales and electrifying performances from Bai Ling (from Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow), Tim Roth (from Dark Water) and Nick Nolte (from Hotel Rwanda) highlight this moving film that celebrates the power of the human spirit.

This is a dramatic view into the lives of the refugies from the middle east. Well filmed but a bit slow

This story will alter the way you think of stateless people and refugees and fill in some of the gaps in recent history. I think everyone should watch this movie - it will make you a better person.

A beautiful movie, it really shows the other side of the plight of boat people. We don't realise how fortunate we are.

Set in South Vietnam in 1990. It is a beautiful story that shows there are reasons sometimes why a GI doesn't go back to his Asian wife and child after the war. You only learn this at the end of the movie. Nice story worth telling on film!

Not much depth in this story, quite boring, no great dialect. A 2nd rate movie

Very moving. Not a 'light' film.

I would have given this film a higher rating if poor Binh had one or two more positive moments. Beautifully directed and performed, a real quality film

One of the 'lucky' ones who finds a Father & freedom but loses a mother and brother in the process.

I didn't watch all of it. It didn't grab me from the beginning but it was poignant & sad in the parts that I watched. I will get it again & watch it through though.
