beautiful if you are into issues around aging
An enjoyable, well acted treatment of a delicate subject.
Beautiful, touching and just a little heart breaking.
What an amazing movie. SOOOOO WELL ACTED BY ALL. So very real, moving and emotional and I imagine very much so like it is. Sadly. Touches a cord on so many levels.
Only 2nd movie I have given 5 stars too. How could I not.
One of the greatest movies I have seen in a long, long time. Both actors are stellar and the story is heartbreaking. The poetry read by Gordon Pinsent throughout is breathtaking! Must -see!
Absolutely beautiful and thought provoking !!
I found this very moving. What strange twists and turns like takes us through. I just hope we are never faced with these tough decisions and heartbreak.
A sad story but very good acting by the two primary actors. You could feel his pain and her confusion.
Interesting approach to a sickness that already appeared in two other movies. Definitely worth watching, but be prepared to feel very sad...
I thought the storyline was great, but I didn't like it how they kept cutting and changing the scenes. How is anyone supposed to follow the story?
Heartbreaking. Heartwarming. Sad.
Heartbreakingly realistic movie. Gordon Pinsent should also have been nominated for this film. Have kleenex close by!
Thoroughly enjoyed this heart wreching movie. Storyline was very well written and had me captivated the whole time. The characters had depth and were all very likeable. Outstanding performances by all actors, particulary the two leads.
This movie definately makes you appreciate the loved ones in your life, as you never know what the future holds.
A very sensitive film about the debilitating desiese of growing old and forgetting your loved ones. Wonderful acting!!!
Good acting, good story. Liked the beginning best and the conclusion is very satisfying but dragged on in tedium for the middle. Interesting; 3 stars from me.
a beautiful and very moving story, very true in every way, shows how desperately a husband tries to keep his wife at home, even though he can see her behaviour mentally deteriating, to the extent eventually af having to put her into care, where she eventually fails to recognize him
Disappointing as NO subtitle for hearing impaired
A very fine movie, sad, but very close to home, about a situation any of us could be in if confronted by Alzheimer's disease. The acting is of a high standard . A thoroughly absorbing film.
A beautiful insight into the deep sadness of watching a loved one disappear bit by bit due to Alzheimer's. Wonderfully acted, and tastefully done at all times.
Boring. I expected a bit better
This kind of movie is not everyone's cup of tea. Very slow but i loved it! A great glimpse into a world of someone's pain in losing their loved one thru Alzheimers and not death. I love how he continues to love her even though she has a different life to him!
A sad but true account of emotions and trials for the person diagnosed with alzheimers and also the immediate loved ones. Very good.
Wonderful movie about how real love endures all ...
Deeply affecting, moving film, with very powerful performances by the two leads. I found the ending unsatisfying though.
True life story. Very accurate movie!
My 89 year old father is rapidly headed into Alzheimers so this movie just made me cry and cry. Having said that I considered it a really beautiful film, a great love story and an insight into what, for many, is to come. Top movie.
Sublime. Beautiful film giving a little more understanding into a marriage that has lasted (not without its ups and downs) and to what it's like to be succumbing to Alzheimers and to be the one left behind. A moving and intelligent story with being overtly sentimental.
beautifully done on a very depressing subject, but found it too hard to watch it all. Definitely not one to get if you are feeling depressed!!
Wonderfully acted especially Julie Christie - she should have won an Oscar for her role in this movie.
A truly beautiful movie about an older couple affected by Alzheimers, superbly acted by the two lead actors. Highly recommended.
Wouldn't it (or won't it) be awful. Unfortunately I found this film lacking something, and I'm not sure what. Anyway, I think this movie makes you want to have kids!
Beautiful movie. Something to look forward to in the future....
It's a bit of a midday movie but it's well written, well acted and no Hollywood schmaltz.
A film that so many of us are possibly going to face with our own parents is handled with grace and dignity. Wouldn't it be lovely if all our situations were able to move easily like this and with so much compassion. I know for a fact, it's not in my family! Still good acting performances and gives plenty of food for thought!
What a beautiful movie. I had expected, given the tough subject matter, that I would find it harrowing, but it's gorgeous. It's a movie about hope, forgiveness and real life.
Wow, I can't believe the director of this film is so young - and I think it was her debut film. It's such a fantastic film. Julie Christie is amazing and the fact that she is so beautiful doesn't even make her unbelievable in this role.
Stunningly beautiful portrayal of long-term love and the difficulties of aging.
The first act is so brilliant that it inevitably sags in the second half, but aside from that - and occasional moments of forgiveable sacchrine - this is a gorgeous tearjerker that deserves to be seen by more people than will bother.
excellent and sensitively acted by all in the movie with some subtexts that were intriguing
Very emotional film about the love shared between a couple and the husband who would fight for his wife's fading memory
Alzheimer’s something you’d rather not think about? Here’s a beautiful love story that educates as well as showing compassion for all affected, not just the one afflicted. The acting is superb: where has Julie Christie been all these years? A worthwhile if sad experience to watch this movie.
very moving, makes the eyes well up
I cant remember if I liked this or not.
Sad but thought-provoking movie about a difficult subject.
