Goodness me I found this dull. Turned it off after 30 mins....just didn't "buy" Leo as their characters. Surprising as I usually LOVE both actors (Leo is very good in Blood Diamond).

Very good acting. Was impressed with the portrayals by all the actors. Rather amazed at Leo's facial expressions - definitely made the part that way. Story lacked depth at times, but was still watchable.

For a biopic about an aviatation pioneer the flying sequences are pretty unexciting. Also Dicaprio is miscaste as the eccentric multi-millionaire as doesn't talk or look anything like Hughes. Disappointing.

This film captured really well the scale and style of life lived by Howard Hughes. I'm not a Leonardo DiCaprio fan but I thought he portrayed HH brilliantly. Cate Blanchett's turn as Katharine Hepburn was a show-stealer.

Cate Blanchett deserved the Oscar she received for her role in this film. An interesting film about a very strange man.

I wasn't a big fan of this movie. I found the acting quite weak. It's worth watching to learn more about the unique life of Howard Hughes.

Very long. Di Caprio has probably produced the performance of his career as Howard Stern. The film doesn't suffer by being based on a true story (as some movies do) - its entertaining and well made.

Really enjoyed this movie despite no particular fondness for the lead actor. Great to learn about the reclusive Mr Hughes and how far we have come with aviation since then, Reminds me somewhat of the battles that mr virgin and mr microsoft have been through too. Pan Am airlines have since folded.

A very interesting look at a man who was a genius bordering on the proverbial madness. Leonardio di Caprio certainly did well to portray the amazing man who was Howard Hughes. Cate Blanchett was quite disconcerting as Katherine Hepburn. She didn't look anything like her, but certainly sounded the part! All in all, an excellent movie and well worth watching.

Very impressed with the main leads -- Leonardo DiCaprio etc. Two main points -- the movie captured the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder very well, with a credible suggestion about H.Hughes' family. Great storey line & acting. More an ensemble than the usual Hollywood mush.

Perhaps this would have been better in the theatre? Too long, too slow, pretty period setting but no heart or soul. Cate and Leonardo gave wonderful interpretations of their characters, but it wasnt enough to stop this being a boring movie.

As a film buff interested in old movies & aviation, I enjoyed it. I have not been a fan of Leo Di Caprio but he was unexpectedly good in this. And Cate Blanchett played her Kathryn Hepburn part to perfection & deserved her Oscar as supporting actress. A great view of the period.

Absolutely brilliant, we never realised the time passing by for it's length. Kate played a brilliant role, however Leonardo definately deserved a nomination and we can now understand him shunning the awards cermony. He was utterly brilliant as Howard Hughes and the academy should be ashamed of themselves overlooking such a stella performance. Sorry Kate this time you were outclassed but it got by unnoticed seemingly!

Interest is mainly due to the history of Howard Hughes. But a lot of younger people will be confused because they aren't aware of the story. Also, there should have been a short epilogue in which the final facts re Hughes were given

A fine film, although not quite the impact of seeing it in the cinema. Having just watched Citizen Kane there are some interesting similarities. The story of Hughes's steady decline mentally is well and sympathetically told The aviation side is well covered and accurate. I think that De Caprio should at least have received a nomination for his performance if not the award.

Dont know why but i absolutely loved this movie. Leonardos acting has to be seen to be believed, dont get me wrong, i am not a Leo fanatic or anything, and most of the time cannot stand him, but he just nails it in this role and Scorsese as always just nails the directing and flow of the movie, not a dull moment for the entire 170 minute duration and will have you searching for old Howard Hughes movies.

There is no doubt that the acting in this movie deserves the accolades it has received, both Cate and Leonardo were superb! The downside was the pace of the movie, I found it too slow and at times tediously boring. However, it must be remembered that it is a biography and sometimes famous lives are as equally boring as our own!

An absolutely rivetting movie with stellar performances by Cate Blanchett and Leonardo di Caprio. Cate thoroughly deserved her Acadamy Award for her wonderful portrayal of Katherine Hepburn. All action scenes were brilliant, and recreation of the era was a masterpiece. My second viewing, but even in "letter-box" format on a small screen, still a privilege to enjoy great cinema. Thanks for the memory!
