Top film - humorous, happy/sad and politically incorrect as only J Nicholson can be - how did we get ourselves into political correctness anyways?
A classic tale; written by Mark Andrus,
The screenplay by Mark Andrus and James L. Brooks;
Directed by James L. Brooks
Paris, Ancient Greece, N.Y. - Countless references and personifications of humanity are displayed throughout. Multiple stories are woven together, the script was enjoyable, but more engaging to myself were the displays of human emotion displayed by every member of the Cast, Crew and Production. All the departments involved were exceptional, the Original Music was done by Hans Zimmer.
The love, jealousy, narcissism and countless other emotions which were shown through Jack Nicholson, Greg Kinnear, Helen Hunt, Cuba Gooding Jr and Jill the Dog were quite moving and the characterization of the entire cast felt real, quite Athenian, and showed myself, (and I hope other's); the absurdity and yet sanity and comedy of modern life.
A Film which could be seen through many different perspectives, In my opinion any-ways.
Jack Nicholson always a winner! Humorous and touching.
funny jack nicholson played the part well
This is one of the all time, great Jack Nicholson movies. He and Helen Hunt play their characters brilliantly - a wealthy, obsessive, antisocial, intelligent, bigotted, insensitive writer interacting with a struggling but confident, waitress/ single mum. There are lots of classic cynical one liners; good stuff!
I knew when this started I had seen it before and was not impressed with the first 15-20 minutes. I therefore rated it very poorly but today tooke the chance to watch it again in its entirety and have to say I really enjoyed it, I was just sorry I hadn't realised when I ordered it that I had actually seen it before.
stupid movie, not funny, poor jack nicholson movie, he is much better than this ...
A classic. Helen Hunt held her own with Nicholson (how many could?) and thoroughly deserved her Oscar. The dog (and Greg Kinnear) were brilliant too. Story? Forget how unlikely it all is and enjoy.
Liked the mix of more or less weird people in this film. But Jack Nicholson is too old to fall in love.
A slow-moving, dreary tale with scant storyline, of three screwed-up, uninteresting people. If that's as good as the US can produce, heaven help us.
Yes we enjoyed this.Jack Nicholson in a part that suited him down to the ground. The mother, waitress was excellent she carried you into every feeling and emotion she was portraying
Wonderful dialogue, top class acting, lovely production which enhances the storytelling. A non-fan of Nicholson won over by this production.
Quirky romantic comedy. Nicholson displays some of the cruelest crticisms you'll hear. Amusing & entertaining with lighter and heavier aspects. Good value
The acting in this instance was supurb.Jack, to my knowledge, has'nt made an unwatchable movie yet.
Nicholson at his abrasive best - some may find him annoying. A superb support cast makes this great viewing.
Very good entertainment. Jack Nicholson was excellent.
