This film is named after the 1986 film but shares nothing in common with that film accept for the day its set on. A bunch of wealthy friends attend a party run by Desiree who has a thing for playing practical jokes on her friends but she takes one joke too far just to be mean and it backfires and a lady friend of theirs is killed by mishap. One year later the friends start getting death threats by the victim which is a new twist for this kind of film and are hunted down and killed one by one. The acting is well done thou very Dynasty like with the dialoge at times. The direction starts the film off on famior ground but has some good plot twists half way thou. The film is rather gory in a few places but nothing too overbearing and the film ends well but on an ironic note. Def worth a view as its rather good and horror fans shall enjoy an updating on the original but its not a remake
