When Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) Langdon discovers evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati - the most powerful underground organization in history - he also faces a deadly threat to the existence of the secret organization's most despised enemy: the Catholic Church. When Langdon learns that the clock is ticking on an unstoppable Illuminati time bomb, he jets to Rome, where he joins forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and enigmatic Italian scientist. Embarking on a non-stop, action-packed hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even to the heart of the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra will follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that mark the Vatican's only hope for survival.

A slightly over-heated but hypnotic thriller, you'll love it if you like drama concerning the Vatican vs Science, and murder scenes around the fabulous old churches of Rome, not to mention Vatican archives - and the murder of a progressive Pope (historical insight ?)

Angels & Demons is big step up from The Da Vinci Code in a lot of ways. This is a lot more fast paced, there is more action, its easier to follow and is more intense. I was a little hesitant to watch it after seeing the first film, but i was pleasantly surprised.

I've never written a movie review before but after watching this movie I felt compelled to. I read the book before watching the movie and perhaps this was my biggest mistake. I thought the book was fantastic, the movie did not live up to this at all. There were characters missing from the movie, plot lines drastically changed (to its detriment), and NO chemistry between Langdon and Vetra. If you haven't read the book then you will probably enjoy the movie. If you have then watch this if only for the religious artefacts/elements.

Not bad, not good either. Nonsensical in ways, but still intriguing enough to make it to the end. The twist I saw coming from the start.

Although this is a well made film - the underlying story is ultimately very flawed and stupid. There are a few plot points that require a big suspension of belief and are not properly explained. This may be a problem relating to the underlying story the film is based on. However, the second to last sequence involving the helicopter is completely absurd and made me laugh out loud with its stupidity. Ultimately only two out of five for me.

Absolute utter trash. Wow, how did this make it to be a cinema release? Everything that is wrong with American cinema and story telling is in this movie...so far from believable! The final scenes will have you laughing in your seat...and this isn't a comedy....well not in the traditional sense, but it is comical movie making.
