When Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) Langdon discovers evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati - the most powerful underground organization in history - he also faces a deadly threat to the existence of the secret organization's most despised enemy: the Catholic Church. When Langdon learns that the clock is ticking on an unstoppable Illuminati time bomb, he jets to Rome, where he joins forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and enigmatic Italian scientist. Embarking on a non-stop, action-packed hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even to the heart of the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra will follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that mark the Vatican's only hope for survival.

Too dark, literally, and complicated to follow. Weirdly unlikely hikes around Rome in and out of probably inaccessible joints, working out puzzles on the hop.Very vaguely related to the original bookangelacarroll1@hotmail.com

Very good .... way better than DVC and much better than the book. It is not as gory as the book. MacGregor plays his role well and perhaps takes the usual mediocracy that Hanks pervades and makes it a bit better. Being set in Rome was a downer, old decrepit graying and dreary .... would have been nicer in HK.

Hanks once again finds instant answers to cryptic clues and runs around finding further answers to even more cryptic clues. In other words, another far fetched but fast moving offering which is marginally better than its predecessor. Read the book instead.

Generally this was drivel, on a par with the Da Vinci Code. Always looks good however, and moves along quite briskly, but the story is just so bad, it makes no sense and at times it is almost laughable, totally predictable. I have no idea why Tom Hanks (who I think is almost always brilliant) is in these movies.

Pretty much a rehash of The Da Vinci Code, which I guess is what makes the books so attractive to many. You can see a fortune has been spent on this, but it lacks so much. I didn't find Ewan McGregor's character believable at all. It is reasonably fast paced and a lot to take in, but it just didn't work for us.

I loved this movie... It was in a way predictable that every clue would lead to the next (Indiana Jones style). However, it did not gave away the clues until just the right time. The movie also had this sense of urgency, similar to the '24' series, which made sure you did not stop watching until the very end. Last but not least the end twist was not foreseeable until exactly at the end! Excellent movie, definitly recommended!

This was better than the Da Vinci Code. It moves at such a cracking pace that a lot of the content and true suspense of the book is lost. Tom Hanks is looking rather buff (it feels wrong to say that) and love who the bad guy is! Thought the ending with the crowning of the new Pope was nicely handled. Good but not great.

Tedious. I struggled to make it through to the last bit, and succumbed to the ff button. Is it the Ewan MacGregor kiss of death or just a bad story? I seen both movies now but haven't read the books, on the scale of plausability (NOT the premises - the the plausiblility of the movies while watching them, no comment on the premises) The Da Vinci Code outshines this by far. I laughed a lot during the "cough" plot. I guessed the baddie from first shot of same. Boring and stupid.

Another great Dan Brown story, unless you don't like to see the Catholic Church take a bit of a bashing.... Tom Hanks was just like he was in the Da Vinci Code, but there was a very exciting, if slightly unbelievable twist at the end (I guess that is why it is rated fiction, not documentary...)

I dont believe that Dan Brown''s exceptional novels translate well to film and this is no exception. The book are so detailed and complex that the characters are required to spend considerable time explaining every detail in an unnatural manner. The scenery is beautiful but the movie only average - read the book instead.

Landon should have drown in the pool right at the beginning, he would have spared me 100 minutes. The very bad script full of flaws, incoherences gives you a very chaotic storyline. Langdon is investigating and obviously find clues that only himself recognize. After you hear what the clues are, you will also laugh out loud. And the bad guy, what a joke I knew who he was right from the beginning. Tom Hanks has got a better hair style however this flick is a stincker and paying millions for those actors to play that movie is simply a waste of time and money. The Devinci Code was quite terrible, well A

Another cat n mouse caper from Dan Brown. If you enjoyed the first film, you'll enjoy this one. However, I found this more boring, ansd I didn't enjoy the first. I dn't know why I bothered with either! Also, someone has to tell Ewan McGregor not to do accents. He's tried in other films and is not improving with time or experience. Not bad to look at though, even in priests' clothes!
