Harry Angel (Mickey Rourke) follows clues from the ominous ghettos of Harlem to the witchy backwoods of Louisiana, where he takes up with Epiphany Proudfoot (Lisa Bonet), the beautiful young daughter of a voodoo priestess, whom he believes will be able to shed light on the growing mystery surrounding the missing musician. As Angel closes in on the truth of the case, his contacts start turning up dead. He begins to suspect he might be next.

De Niro. I never thought seeing someone crack a boiled egg and eat it could scare the bejaysus out of me! Although a bit dated now, this film still holds its power and keeps you guessing until the final scene.

Great movie, Mickey Rourke was brilliant, Deniro was Incredibly disturbing. The movie itself should be considered a horror it is incredibly Creepy and Disturbing and Uggghhh. Gruesome and Bloody. Not for the feint of Heart.

Over 20 years since its release and you can still be astounded by two things: 1) How many films have ripped off this mesmerizing, terrifying thriller; and 2) What happened to Mickey Rourke's face.

Bob de Niro steals the show as Louis Cyphre in this movie which has an original storyline and a couple of good twists

Robert De Niro as always excellent, but thats all I can say. Very disjointed confusing plot if you could call it one. Watched it it to the end so I wouldn't be curious and have to watch it again

A dark and suspenseful movie with a surprise ending. Micky Rouke is well cast as the private detective trying to find out what happened to a blues singer. However, the strength of the movie lies in a look at the sinister underbelly of Louisina cajun/voodoo culture. Therefoe, the best parts are towards the end.

One of the few genuinely scary movies I've ever seen. Rourke is outstanding, so are De Niro and Lisa Bonet.

Robert de Niro as the Devil-inspired casting!! Brilliant movie which actually has a plot, somewhat of a rarity in modern horror, relatively original storyline and wonderful performances from Lisa Bonet and de Niro. Mickey Rourke doesn't add a lot(you will be so over the word's "I'm from Brooklyn" by the time this movies over) but an excellent experience nonetheless
