Christian Bale. Like him or hate him? Me, I'm not too sure. The over acted is uncomfortable to watch during this movie until you reach the end of the movie and realise how and why it's happening. I won't give the ending away but to say it's a clever concept for a movie but I think this would have worked better with Kevin Spacey or Kevin Bacon much more effectively. You decide.

Some sequences would have benifited with some form of background commentary

I thought this would show more blood and guts, but I was kind of happy that most of the killing was not seen. I don't like the sex scenes, but they do help you realise that this guy is totally sick and twisted. For a guy how seems to be high up on Wall St, why is his desk so empty? I should probably read the book, just to see the differences...

Didn't read the book and really the movie didn't inspire me to. Bale is terrific, but the black humour, intended or otherwise didn't really come off.

Those Wall Street guys are a bunch of jerks. No wonder Bateman went bonkers, even if it was all in his head. A fine performance from Christian Bale once again and a good film to watch.

I have no idea how the main character and his so called fiance would ever have had a relationship. They are too much into themselves.
I thought maybe his actions were all fantasy in his head and he did not do anything at all. Because the lawyer called him Davis and said he had seen the so called "missing guy" in London a couple of times, and the apartment of the "missing guy" was being redecorated when the main character went back to see his body of work (dead bodies in closets, etc).
Maybe he was underworked and overpaid, and had too much time on his hands - as is the corporate lifestyle!

A brilliant movie, a cult classic, a cross between wall street and boogie nights, a black comedy more than anything, wonderful dialog all the characters run well, not to be missed under any circumstances, go buy a copy right now! Good extras as well, if you liked him in shaft you will adore him in psycho, watch out for the next time you share business cards!

I must have been psycho to have sat through this one none of it made any sense as i take it, it was all a fantasy and the plot that unfolded should have been in a cemetery because anything this bad belongs no where else.

Despite the title this is no slasher movie. Instead it is a dark satirical look at the classic 'american dream' theme. I think it had the potential to be a good film (I certainly am now interested in reading the book), but stylisically the direction and a lot of the acting seemed at odds. I actually watched several bits of the movie through twice to get my head around what the director was trying to convey - not a good sign.

A wonderfully satirical movie. Its hard not to take it seriously though. The best part is the "hip to be square" scene. Its based on the well known book by Bret Easton Ellis and its an American classic. Very violent in some areas its hard to keep your eyes on the scene all the way though. Not to be missed if you love the 80s and movies like Natural Born Killers.

I read this book years ago and had forgotten how much of a psycho Bateman really is.Not a bad adaptation but certainly not the best I've seen.

One of the finest movies ever made, Bale is awesome as Bateman - equal parts sophistication and savagery. Love the scene with the crossword: meat, bones, meat......
