In the “Squeakquel,” pop sensations Alvin, Simon and Theodore end up in the care of Dave Seville's twenty-something nephew Toby (Zachary Levi). The boys must put aside music superstardom to return to school, and are tasked with saving the school's music program by winning the $25,000 prize in a battle of the bands. But the Chipmunks unexpectedly meet their match in three singing chipmunks known as “The Chipettes” - Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette. Romantic and musical sparks are ignited when the Chipmunks and Chipettes square off.

I guess with a movie like The Chipmunks the novelty's over when the first one finishes so bearing this in mind it's not a bad follow-up. My son enjoyed it, lots of fun and giggles.

I really disliked the first Alvin and the Chipmunks - chiefly because of the noise which is probably called a soundtrack - so this was a movie I thought would be good to borrow rather than own. But I really liked this one and will consider adding to our collection at some point - better than expected and quite cute....and some good music despite the chipmunk voices....

I'm a chipmunks fan!!! However I'm not a Jason Lee fan, too one dimensional from his My Name Is Earl Character.
This one is not as good as the first, but still enjoyable.

Good all-round family movie, I just love these sort of movies they're funny and well animated with our favourite chipmunks. Well worth the watch for all ages...

who said sequels are never as good as the first? This one is an exception!
Of course on a similar story line as the first... a little less music..
However, the humour, the songs and a double set of chipmunks! Looking forward to number 3! (I am a child in an adult body ....)

Girl chipmunks singing, boy chipmunks singing.....what's not to like? My daughter LOVED this and watched it daily. A fun movie that kids understand and parents can watch and appreciate. As Dave says "Aalllviiiinnnn!!!!!" No doubt there'll be Chipmunks 3.

I rated this movie 3 but my kids aged 8, 9 and 10 would rate it 5 - they love the chipmunks, they enjoyed this one better than the first because of the very cute chipetts - kids will luv this one !!

My kids, who loved the first movie, loved this one, too. I liked the first film, but I found this one tedious, predictable, and rather dumb. Still, the kids like it, it's not offensive, and the music is as entertaining as the first film, so it's worth hiring if you have kids, especially kids who enjoyed the original film.

If you like the first movie you will like the second. Liked Adam Garcia's performance and was slightly disappointed there was not much of Jason Lee in this movie the chipettes where good singing hot n cold and single ladies very cute!

It was a good movie for kids, especially the kid screaming next to me in excitement whenever the female chipmunks appeared. Not as much singing as the first movie. First movie is much better. Why are sequels always a bust?
