This is a very unusual movie - an interesting storyline based on real life events - a murder mystery drama. I love Ryan Gosling to bits but it's hard to like his character in this movie, he reveals as a very unpleasant, somewhat scary and weird person. The ageing makeup freaked me out a bit too, I thought it looked terrible! Kirsten Dunst is lovely and you really feel for her, married to such a creepy, unemotional and unpredictable man. Not a great movie and it did feel rather long, but it is intriguing, if at times disjointed. Ryan Gosling's portrayal once again confirms that he is not just a pretty face and is a very talented actor.
