Taking place directly after the first Alien vs Predator, a spaceship crash-lands on Earth right outside a rural Colorado town and unleashes dozens of facehuggers and one dreadlocked Predalien (Predator/Alien hybrid) into the woods nearby. It is up to residents of the small-time town to band together and attempt to survive the onslaught, which is further complicated by the arrival of another battle-ready Predator, keen to put a stop to the Alien outbreak.

As most of the movie was set in the dark and everything was moving so fast it was a bit hard to keep up with and watch.

I can see what happened here. They tested the film and found everyone thought it was dull and with mediocre special effects. So they crunched the grade until it was so dark nobody could tell what was going on. A shame, I'm a big fan of the Alien and Predator movies. I liked the concept of a AP hybrid, but they did nothing interesting with it. What a mess.

Watching this with low expectations, I was still a bit disappointed. Certainly you don't expect anything like the first or second Alien movies or the Predator movies, but I expected it to be at least as good as Alien Vs Predator. It did nothing with the characters. It did nothing to advance the overarching stories???. A walk-through movie with great creatures and no character.

A Predator gives birth to an Alien Baby = Alien with no extra powers??? What Tha? Come on what a brilliant opportunity to blow all of the same genre's out of the window - NOPE. Least favourite of all of the Alien, Predator series movies.

Right from the beginning I knew it was going to suck... This is an absolute shame, compared to the standard of all the other Predator/Alien movies, this was apitamal, worst of the lot... It should be deleted from history!

While by no means a B-Grade failure, AvP2 is an utterly pedestrian, boring and forgettable stab at the sci-fi action genre. The worst part is that all of the action scenes are almost completely obscured by darkness. Rather than being atmospheric, this renders them incomprehensible, confusing and dull.

I'm not a fan of the Alien movies, however I do adore Predator movies. The AVP 1 was fantastic, everything about it was wonderful. This movie however is lacking that magical element that the first had. Yet it's still quite a good flick as far as lesser known running up sci-fi action movies go.

Great movie monsters destroyed by Hollywood greedy money makers in this awful movie. Aliens and Predators deserve better than this. Bring back the future and the Colonial Marines.

Very predictable plot with loads of no-surprises gore. Acting pretty pathetic, but if you're after some gory action and escapism, go for it! Pretty average over-all, but my 11-year-old son liked it better than me!!

Another notch in the belt. Once again a good movie produced from the directors. Although one of the problems I found was some of the scenes were a little to dark, in ambient light that is. Although this is most likely needed to add to the originality! Good movie

I couldn't comment on who was in the picture as it was so dark they could have been me!
Because I knew the original story I figured out what was happening but I felt it was a waste of time watching as I didn't see half what was happening anyway. If I was in a theatre I would want my money back. It was not my TV that was at fault.

What you'd expect from a sci fi sequel. Plenty of action, gore and fighting to be getting on with for those who enjoy that sort of stuff. Don't expect a too deep and meaningful storyline!

I noiced that some reviewers said there was a plot to this movie. What plot? It seems that they just arrive at the same little town and start fighting. Although this town seems to have really long nights and very short days as stuff only happens in the dark and it is impossible to work out what is going on. Stick with the original Aliens trilogy or the original Predator with Arnie.

I've walked out on three movies in my life (Highlander 2, Crow 2, Teen Wolf) - this is number four. This isn't a pizza movie, it's not even something I can recommend if it's free and you're hard up. No pacing, no plot, it contradicts itself at every turn, some horrific violence against children, so dark it's impossible to tell what's happening half the time, cynical, cruel... This is a film without any redeeming qualities whatsoever. And to top it off it takes two classic monsters with a wealth of lore behind them, and makes them trite.

I think this series is well past its use-by date. Nothing new here, same old story line (humans are for eating), Aliens are all powerful and Predators are the third-leg in the pyramid. Predictable in the extreme and rather boring by the end.

It's hard to imagine how such a cool concept can be so consistently stuffed up. Viewing this movie was entirely frustrating because you couldn't see anything. Who would know if the action was any good? The lighting was so dark that you could see nothing on screen but patches of light on a black background. Even the daylight scenes looked dark. Was it rescued by a good story? No.

Another popcorn and pizza night in special. Liked the overlay of traditional teenage american movie stereotypes - the guy from prison with a good heart, young brother chasing the chicks, blond bimbo - on top of the not very complex plot.

Incredibly badly lit. Darkness abounds. We're witnessing a big fight between large-scale monsters. I watched this on a 1080p HD TV and still couldn't tell what was going on.

Was very hesitant due to the the mixed reviews, and always thought it tacky to bring the two together. If you can get past all that, and you're an A or P fan, you might like this one. Had some good action scenes and plenty of blood and slime, and the wan-ton killing of innocents was also nice. Only problem was it was too short - 85mins - so it's over before you know it, but for some people that might be a good thing. Overall a good try, and worth a watch if you're an Alien or Preditor fan, but if you're not a fan you probably won't like it.

This is much better than the first AVP and actually is a good action movie come sci-fi come semi horror movie. We quite enjoyed it though the story is far fetched at many places.

Nowhere near as good as the first AVP, and ultimately a let down for the whole franchise, right back to the original Alien and Predator films. Just didn't make sense and was too dark to be impressed by the aliens.

Bad acting, writing and production make this a real disappointment for fans of both franchises.
Here's hoping they get it right for the next sequel because this is a huge misfire.

Watch only if you have seen the previous Predator / Alien films - at least one of the respective series - otherwise you will have no idea what is going on. If you have enjoyed the previous alien / predator flix then this is actually not bad.

It an 'OK" movie. Not as good as the first. Its too dark, lietrally. Its black so much of the time you cant see what is going on which is fustrating and annoying. Watch it to satisfy your curiosty, its ok... but dont expect too much and you will enjoy it

The director of photography of this film should be strung up. There are better ways to film scenes to make them look like night where the viewer at home can actually see what is going on. This film was almost entirely shot in the exterior at night and in most scenes, half of the picture is that dark you can't see what is going on. I have a good tv, setup with dvd essentials, and if it looks this bad when the tv is setup properly, the picture is at fault, not the tv. Turning up the brightness to an unacceptable level is just not on, it was so terrible I wasn't able to enjoy it at all, even though I didn't mind the original AvP.

Better than I was expecting, had heard some bad reports on this sequel to the AVP franchise but to my surprise I found this to be not to bad, gets back to some of the chillier roots of the original Alien movies with more baby Alien chest busting scenes and plenty of action. Worth a watch for Alien or Predator fans.

My partner loved this. He is a real A V P fan, thoroughly enjoying every moment of this film. As for me, there were a few grisly bits I would rather not have seen, however, I did enjoy this movie.

I have no idea what happened, there was explosions, guns and people yelling, oh yeah there was a hot blonde girl as well...
I was left yelling at the camera man to zoom out so I could see what was happening!!!

FANTASTIC, action packed. Crank the sounds up and enjoy. Maybe not quite as much as the first, but the best sequel I've seen in a long, long time. Any A or P fan will really enjoy this.
