The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of the Unicorn (Blu-ray) (2011)

An average children's movie. An enjoyable remake of the books, but didn't enage the children as much as it could, and I found the caricatures a bit of proportion (was I the only one to find the Captain's head looked swollen?)

Amazing graphics - almost 100% lifelike in spots. But the story was just too childish for us; yet we were really concerned about the ship's captain and the emphasis on him getting drunk all the time. It seemed like not a moment went past where he didn't have a bottle in his hand! Heck at one stage even the dog had a drink! This is certainly NOT something I would want my kids to see, our society has enough issues with alcohol abuse as it is. We got bored and switched it off. Steve

Brilliant movie - animation was so lifelike and it really captured the feel of the TinTin comics I read as a child.

Pretty good - aninmation is great.

Really enjoyed the motion-capture and the way it brought Tintin to life. Lots of fun and interest for ages 8 and up.

This is a fairly poor intepridation of the original feel and concept of Tin tin. If your a fan of the comics and orignal works, you will be disapointed here as there is way too much slap stick humour. Yes, it was in the original comics, but nowhere near this level. Still, the graphics are amazing and it is good to see the Capt'n, Tintin and snowy on the big screen. There are parts the fans will love, but the overbearing slap stick comedy will disapoint. Otherwise take this film as it is, an enjoyable action & slap stick flick, with a little white dog to boot.

Amazing graphics :) had to second look a few times, not a great story but well worth the watch.

Also felt at points heads were too big for the bodies of the characters still looks like a billion dollars. A lot of action which I felt was too much at times ... Jump after jump, stunts after stunts... But well that's a Tintin adventure! I guess it looked quite a bit like an high voltage Indiana Jones indeed.

I found this very entertaining with hilarious slapstick sequences and a reasonably interesting plot. The british accepts and dialogue sequences are charming and witty. Even the older stereotypical characters seem to dazzle in the light of a big budget production. The graphics are excellent with some of the best water effects I've seen and my only minor quibble is that the faces occasionly looked too real which made it appear like normal people with giant heads. I think the whole family can enjoy this one and I recommend it for everyone.
