LOW LEVEL VIOLENCE

Director: Stephen Gaghan
Actors: Katie Holmes, Benjamin Bratt, Charlie Hunnam, Zooey Deschanel

Take an unforgettable psychological thrill ride with ABANDON, and a sexy all-star cast featuring Katie Holmes (Teaching Mrs Tingle) and Benjamin Bratt (Miss Congeniality). The pressures of finishing her thesis at a prestigious university and earning a position with a premier consulting firm have Katie Burke (Holmes) seeing things. She still hasn't gotten over her freshman romance two years earlier with Embry, and his mysterious disappearance without a trace still haunts her. The trail is cold, but detective Wade Handler (Bratt), a recovering alcoholic, enters Katie's chaotic campus life to put the pieces of Embry's vanishing and his own life together. Just as some compelling evidence comes to light, Embry mysteriously reappears only to wreak havoc on Katie's new affection for Wade.

I'm not quick on the uptake, but even I knew the plot almost from the beginning. Dated and I don't really think Katie Holmes can act. I wanted to see Charlie Hunnam before Sons of Anarchy - he's definitely improved.

Not really a psychological thrill ride, but definitely a twist towards the end that I wasn't expecting.

It's a bad sign in a thriller when you instantly know whodunit.

Interesting scenario and twists. Katie's character was convincing, as the message of her belief regarding her selfworth came through. She seemed attracted to the men she knew would let her down. Worth a look, although I wouldn't watch it again or recommend to a friend.

Well an action movie it aint! But, its not bad if you want to sit down and have a glass of wine and don't want to think too much! Plot a bit thin but still a decent drama.....thriller(?) if you want something interesting but not too scary. A few twists which keeps the plot involved. I give it a thumbs up.

This movie is not worth reviewing. When it commenced, I realised I had seen it before and even then, watched it just enough to know it was a dud. This time I turned it off immediatlely.
