44-inch chest is a provocative, outrageously profane and surprisingly tender film amidst an explosion of unbridled testosterone. The movie explores the masculine ego at breaking point, testing whether fear is stronger than love. Colin (Ray Winstone) is in agony, shattered by his wife's (Joanne Whalley) infidelity. However, he has friends who do more than stand by; they kidnap his wife's French lover and hold him prisoner so that Colin can restore his manhood with revenge.

Not very impressed - the description did not say it was a 4 person stage play.

What a crappy movie!!! Decided to watch it on a Saturday night. Thought it would be suitable for my husband as it was billed as 'testoserone fuelled'. I'm not a wowser, but the language was 'over the top' offensive and it was sooooo boring we didn't even obther to finish watching it to the end.

I always felt as if I was watching a stage play, it had that overacted sort of feel that often occurs on the stage. The acting was very good but I never felt any of them were really in the environment they were supposed to portray. Hard core criminals playing at philosophy, but it just didn't quite work. All actors are very capable of playing hard men but in this it seemed like they were pretending and the use of profane language actually made them sound unbelievable, not tough. Still worth a watch tho, it's different.

Thought it was okay. A little off beat and the swearing got a little out of hand. Surprised to see John Hurt as he is such a well known actor and has done some great films and Mr Lovejoy played a super part in this film.

Yep, boring. Poor man's Guy Ritchie gangster film with unnecessary amounts of swearing, and cliched accents that border on parody.

I couldnt watch this. Possibly because I am so affected by Winslow. His pain in this was too much to bear. Hurst was brilliant as the blustering tough guy, but all in all Im not sure where the movie was headed. Was it meant to be another In Bruges? Hurst seemed to think so, but Winslow's suffering was too real to be funny

Very average movie involving 4 quality British actors, what a waste of talent, wife gave it a miss after 2 minutes. Language was very extreme, ( F & C ) excessive and unnecessary to the extent it ruined what ever story they were trying to tell. It starts off with this verbal diarrhea by 5 violent men seeking revenge on a friends wifes lover, it involves flash backs by the unstable husband bashing his wife, his boring fantasies, and all 5 men taunting the lover. The revenge turns deranged to the extent it becomes stupid . I thought it was going to be like the great movies ???two smoking barrels??? and ???snatch??? but it wasn???t. Summing up DON???T BOTHER poor nights entertainment.
