Entertaining and quite touching comedy, with moments of sheer brilliance. Unfortunately let down by excessive swearing and few plot holes. The end credits are awesome. 4 stars.
Kind of funny in parts, but dragged on far too long and was ultra predictable.
Above average heart and depth and comedy for this school/genre. A slightly different structure to its peers makes for a refreshing watch. Glad I watched it but it could have delivered even more to become an undeniable stunner.
Too long, not worth watching it
A good movie. It did drag on far too long though. Great cast. Very funny in parts (waxing scene), and overall I enjoyed having a good laugh. Enjoy anything with Seth Rogen.
Give it a miss unless your a sixteen year old. Overall movie too long to sit n watch this crap...
After alot of crasy antics along the way it was worth the watch to see the silly look on Andy's face at the end of the movie.
The great fun movie, i enjoyed alot
Some hilarious moments but a bit of a one joke movie.
Funny as hell with a heart of gold. Check it out.
Incredible! Superb candidate for "the worst movie I have ever seen". So bad it made me laugh, or rather, cringe. Complete rubbish.
This movie is as funny as.Steve Carrell makes the role so believable, almost. The sight gags were brillant especially the one at the start which had me cackling in the isles.Great comedy.
This has most things one could expect of a Hollywood movie: fun, jokes, slapstick, crudity, swearing, sex, sexy women, bare breasts, oddball characters, song and dance, and a happy ending. What more could one ask for?
Your 16 year old son and his mates will love this, but for me it was a one joke movie that wasn't even that funny. Too much swearing.
Lots of hype and funny bloopers bits but everything else is pretty lame. I love Steve Carell (Little Miss Sunshine, The Office) but this is too dumb to waste 116 minutes on.
Pretty sad message, too.
Surprisingly funny. A cut above your average retarded american teenage excuse for humour ( see superbad for an idea of what I mean by that)
Good fun. Steve Carell is hilarious and supported by a strong cast. The extras are worth watching, especially the chest -waxing scene....
Has some funny moments. However it sends an inappropriate message to young men, and gives them unrealistic expectations. Potentially harmful.
Not bad - got a few good laughs
Sooooo much better than I thought it would be. So funny I now see why people were raving about it when it came out. Definately worth a watch if you want a laugh with a storyline.
Pretty good movie with lots of humorous situations
Really enjoyed this movie even though it was a bit over done at times
Very typical of the Judd Apatow films. Funny, don't go there moments and a reasonable story. I can't believe all these people that complain about the language when this flick is rated MA15+ with a warning for frequent coarse language. What do you think that means???
Its so funny its BADD!!!!
IT WAS GREAT BUT THE VERY LAST 5 MINS RUINED THE WHOLE MOVIE
Very funny, worth watching.
I didnt think this would be as funny as it was. This movie has a good story line and the wit to pull the title off - Great work!
Absolutely funny film, an easy one to watch on a Friday night when your brain is on vacation. Otherwise, no real depth.
Porky's for the older generation. Loved its irreverance and crudity. Not quite the movie you'd take your girlfriend to see.
Funny, kept me amused all the way to the end.
Not as funny as I expected. A lot of course language, and the comedy was very predictable and laboured.
I think there was overkill in the swearing department which spoilt the story for me.
watched it for 40 mins, did not laugh once, found it foul and unfunny.
A funnier script than expected, highly enjoyable thanks to Carrell's engaging Andy and the funny, supporting cast. Given the subject matter, this was a nicely mature comedy in the end. American Pie it ain't (which is a good thing!).
Everyone else I know thought it was hilarious, I did like it though, but I think my expectations were high, the singing happy bit at the end was just too much I felt like cringing.
A clever, funny and thoroughly entertaining movie. Loved it!
Out takes are funnier than the movie. I think the cast and crew may have laughed a little harder than the audience.
It was funny, but more bad language then expected.
funny but the ending is a let down
Pretty much a one-joke movie. Interesting take on the whole single and virgin genre, but the coarse language was simply gratuitous banality.
Very funny I really enjoyed this movie
A good friend laughed herself silly watching this movie on a flight to Hong Kong, and recommended it to me. Here on the ground I didn't think that much of it. Commentary features lots of "YO DUDE!" isms so LIKE if you LIKE dig this kind of....I vacuumed my floors whilst this was on.
Its very funny but a bit over the top
Good basic concept, but a little slow and not enough humerous situations
so funny i almost wet my pants
So funny, even the extra features are full of laughs. Clearly the director allowed a lot of ad-libbing to get the dialogue fresh, oh and I am still cringing from the waxing scene, some actors really go above and beyond the call of duty. Great ensemble cast but the lead actor, is definately the star. Sweet, original, romantic, and rude, well worth a watch!!
Great laughs! You have to have the right sense of humour for this one.
Good idea but bad interpretation.
Too much too low language
Didn't enjoy this movie in the slightest - Didn't find it comical in the least - Boring.
This is a great comedy. Definitely one of those movies that you will be quoting after viewing. Beware there is an enormous quanity of swearing and crude humour!
not bad movie the swearing was a bit much in places but was funny in others
If you like constant and offensive bad language this is the movie for you
Terrible. Way too much bad language.
teenage appeal, basic storyline, relies on a great deal of 'gutter' humour, very foul unnecessary language & soft porn. Some funny moments but overall very average immature movie; not recommended
Actually pretty good. Better than I expected.
very funny movie. Don't miss it, rent it now.
A lot better than expected! Very funny!
Was too long and drawn out. Seem to go on and on and on...
Just be warned the language is very colourful
Very funny movie. Well acted by the main character with great support.
Honestly, if you can relate to this movie in any way, you have serious issues. Fun in parts, but generally pretty cringeworthy.
Laughed quite a bit during this one. If you like your comedy in the style of films such as "Old School" and "Anchorman", you'll love this. It can be crude and incorrect in so many ways but its handled magnificently.
THE MALE MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE. I AM FED UP WITH THE SWEARING IN MOVIES.
Sensational! The funniest I have seen for a while. Easy watching with many laughs throughout
Very crass but very funny, probably 30 mins too long and dragged a bit in the middle but worth the watch.
Very funny movie. Crass humour probably will appeal to guys more than girls but some very funny scenes. Waxing will never be quite the same for those that do !
Far too much swearing, and too many below-the-belt jokes - most of the humour would appeal to guys. But it did have a sweet main character and some genuinely funny moments. The ending is something I haven't seen before.
Could only sit through about the first 20 mins then switched it off. Had heard great reviews but personally thought it was crapped for the part that I watched. Maybe it gets better later on in the movie.
Very Puerile - good for a laugh at homophobic convention.
A men's romantic comedy with an amazing amount of 'coarse language'
A very funny movie with an excellent storyline and a great part played by Steve Carell. Lots of laughs, but certainly not for young children. If you have a good sense of humour you'll love it too. Absolutely loved the waxing scene!
Reasonable story line, but way too much of the F word for my liking.
If you like your comedy cheap, tacky, trite and appealing to the lowest common denominator, then this one's for you. I would have given it another .5 for the couple of laughs I got and for the class that is always, Catherine Keener.
