Andy Stitzer (Steve Carrell) has a nice life complete with an action figure collection and a cushy job at an electronics store. After four decades on the planet, Andy Stitzer has still not had sex. He's had a pretty good life in most ways, but there's that one rather significant experience that has given him the slip. When his workmates find out his secret, they think it's time things changed. When Andy meets Trish (Catherine Keener) and Andy's pals start to hold out hope for him - that is until they discover the arrangement that he and Trish have made concerning their relationship...

Above average heart and depth and comedy for this school/genre. A slightly different structure to its peers makes for a refreshing watch. Glad I watched it but it could have delivered even more to become an undeniable stunner.

This has most things one could expect of a Hollywood movie: fun, jokes, slapstick, crudity, swearing, sex, sexy women, bare breasts, oddball characters, song and dance, and a happy ending. What more could one ask for?

Your 16 year old son and his mates will love this, but for me it was a one joke movie that wasn't even that funny. Too much swearing.
Lots of hype and funny bloopers bits but everything else is pretty lame. I love Steve Carell (Little Miss Sunshine, The Office) but this is too dumb to waste 116 minutes on.
Pretty sad message, too.

A funnier script than expected, highly enjoyable thanks to Carrell's engaging Andy and the funny, supporting cast. Given the subject matter, this was a nicely mature comedy in the end. American Pie it ain't (which is a good thing!).

A good friend laughed herself silly watching this movie on a flight to Hong Kong, and recommended it to me. Here on the ground I didn't think that much of it. Commentary features lots of "YO DUDE!" isms so LIKE if you LIKE dig this kind of....I vacuumed my floors whilst this was on.

So funny, even the extra features are full of laughs. Clearly the director allowed a lot of ad-libbing to get the dialogue fresh, oh and I am still cringing from the waxing scene, some actors really go above and beyond the call of duty. Great ensemble cast but the lead actor, is definately the star. Sweet, original, romantic, and rude, well worth a watch!!
