Same as says. Couldnt get into it and was expecting more.
How charmingly wickedish, couldn't help but like it against my usual judgement.
Couldn't really get involved in this movie. Probably disappointed partly because I was expecting more.
Really pretty boring Couldn't even make it to the end
very annoying that the dvd jammed with about 10 mins to go so couldn't see the end
Very funny, very smart and very Woody Allen-esque - this film is a hoot! I found it very enjoyable, and laughed out loud more than a few times - I think some of those Parisian taxi drivers would fit right in her in Australia!!! Julie Delpy is a marvel; having written, directed, edited and even provided some of the music to this film - the song that plays over the end credits is very sweet and catchy! Highly recommended!!
I loved this movie, it had developed quirky characters, but aren't most of us? No stereotypes here. The father and mother were a hoot and the movie stayed true to it's theme and never lost it's way as this type of movie can, in an effort to please everyone. It was uncompromising and hard edged, but I liked it's honesty. Good effort all 'round by Julie Delphy. A truly REAL love story.
Don't bother. I watched this because it was so ridiculous, I had to see where this movie was heading. Waste of time.
If I had "2 Days in Paris" I wouldn't spend it constantly arguing with my man. What a waste of a stopover. Watch if you want to brush up on your French - good subtitles and some very funny bits - although not funny enough to make me laugh.
I watched this movie in a few chunks. It improves after the first 20 minutes.
The couple is very annoying and you have to be grateful you don't know them.
Best bits - an honest look at a couple that would appear interesting at first and their cute cat.
i got this film cos i adore paris and i like french films, big mistake. what a dull boring movie, watching a couple fight. no fun at all. i want entertainment when i watch a dvd!! not a bickering couple. i might as well just listen to my neighbours. *yawn*
if you were bored before don't bother with it
One of the worst movies I've. The 2 characters deserve each other, they are just as painful as each other. They are both compulsive whingers.
My recommendation - don't bother wasting your time.
I only chose this because I wanted to see if Paris was depicted as forgettable as I found it to be. I was right for the male character anyway. The female character was pretty typical of the weird Parisians.
Quite funny. I like movies about crazy families.
watchable, but if you saw Julie Delphy in the flicks with Ethan What's His Name, 'Before Sunrise' and its sequel, then you have already seen this film. Julie plays the same role for the third time, not sure how much anyone needs to see that . . .
The most disappointing movie I've seen in a long time. The trailer did not mention the movie was subtitled throughout, very little English spoken and then hard to understand at best. The story line just did not come together, the characters were extremely neurotic and probably deserved each other as no one else would get involved. I thought there would be more interesting scenery in Paris. Overall would not recommend it as a romantic comedy maybe for people with more eclectic tastes in film.
Indy actress JULIE DELPY leaves behind the pretensions of "BEFORE SUNSET/SUNRISE" and, instead, channel's WOODY ALLEN in this quirky romantic comedy about a neurotic young couple whose brief stay in Paris doesn't quite go as planned. With its hand held camera and seemingly improvised dialogue "2 DAYS IN PARIS" is both realistic and funny and features terrific performances from all of its cast (including Delpy's real-life mum and dad playing her kooky onscreen parents) but none are better than ADAM GOLDBERG as a whining, insecure but witty New Yorker. And while it's true that neither of the main protagonists are at all likeable, their fractured relationship and "deep and meaningfuls' have an authentic feel which is sorely lacking in Hollywood romantic comedies these days.
This movie does get better so persevere. A good story with interesting scenes and some dry funny bits. But just couldn't relate to Jack. It beggers belief that a character like Marion could fall for such a self absorbed, arsehole, unless she has a tattoo fetish. But she is female I guess, so maybe that explains it all. I loved Marion's French accent!
Definitely not my cup of tea.
entertaining, funny (particularly when the frenchman asks the american if he can speak french before he totally ....).
This was a hoot - funny movie. I think Julie Delpy is a very talented person - take a look at the credits - she did everything! Worth a look although it is different so won't apply to everyone.
If you know someone from New York and Paris , you will like this movie
Enjoyable movie - very realistic relationship - no hollywood here!
I found the experience of perving on this unlikeable couple somewhat cringeworthy. Perhaps it was the American xenophobia about all things Parisian or the weirdness of Marion's parents - stereotyped 1968-ers who have never moved on - or perhaps the plot was just plain boring. If you hate the French, you may nod and chuckle occasionally. But otherwise, you may just watch it with your finger hovering over the Stop button, like I did, wondering if it's worth going to the end.
Low budget. Did have some funny moments. Have seen worse movies.
This is a really good film especially if you have been around for a while.
Though, I imagine if you are young and optimistic, its outlook on life presented by the film might depress you.
i laughed out loud a couple of times, though it is a dark comedy. Not your general American trash.
Oh and if you are right wing you might feel a bit uncomfortable as well.
Loved the writing, the pace, the sarcasm, the banter and especially Adam Goldberg's character. Some of the quizzical looks he gives and mutterings under his breath are priceless. Very enjoyable.
I kept waiting for the movie to improve. It didn't.
Loved this movie. Very clever dialogue and sardonic humour. Getting swept up in the cinematography of Paris was also very enjoyable. I saw it twice at the cinema and twice on DVD. It's a movie that you either love or hate.
Could not get into this at all
Very will written and acted. Sometimes a little too real.
This is a Julie Delpy gab-fest. Her boyfriend is a ponce who is intimately conversant with every personal medical foible. The film is lightened only by her Mum and Dad who are a hoot. The taxi-drivers are eye-poppingly well acted.
I think ... no! Seems like Julie Delpy wants to show everyone how well she can speak French.
If you are intelligent and have ever had a romantic relationship with someone other than your computer/car you will like this film. Some of the the other 'reviewers' clearly represent the... umm 'others'.
What a tedious movie. Julie Delpy tries too hard.
Loved this movie, really great.
If you met this pair of lovers in real life you’d probably find them interesting for a short time, but then realise they were quite neurotic and a waste of time – just like this movie.
Too much dialog and not enough story and action for me I was disapointed as usually enjoy movies set in Paris and Venice but could not get into this one
