28 Weeks Later is the sequel to Danny Boyle’s 2002 movie 28 Days Later that followed a handful of survivors after a devastating virus has infected most of the British population, sending its victims into a murderous rage. Now, six months after the rage virus has annihilated the British Isles, the US Army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. Under the strict supervision of the US Military, the first wave of refugees is allowed back into the city. Among them are Don (Robert Carlyle), his new girlfriend, Scarlett (Rose Byrne), and Don’s two children. Don lost his wife during the original infection, while Scarlett lost her entire family. All seems under control until a new carrier of the virus makes his way within the quarantined area....

I enjoyed this better than the first (28 days Later), though it wasn't great. 2.5 stars If you really want to see how to do Zombies properly I suggest reading Feed by Mira Grant (now that would be a great book to turn into a zombie movie...)

Sorry ! - This movie should never have seen the light of day. I feel sorry for the actors, It depended on shock tactics, with plenty of blood and gore, unfortunately it did not do the cast justice, and they should have pulled the plug before being seen in this tawdry flick. It is all very well to paint a picture of horrible circumstance, but some continuity would have been nice. Can you change your rating scores to include negatives ??.

I thought it was pretty good, although Dawn of the Dead (both the original and remake) was better. Lost a bit of the "social commentary" bit of the first movie, but gained more action in its place.

Disappointing sequel to "28 Days Later". I should know better than to expect total plausibility in a sci-fi flick but this was ludicrous to the point of laughability. Robert Carlyle's children -one looked like a supermodel and the other was totally untalented-were asked to do things that no children would have even dreamed of. Rose Byrne was wasted. Too many dark scenes-and the hand held camera made it nearly impossible to tell what the f---was going on.

I so loved the original 28 Days Later but felt this one just didn't hang together. It's odd really because the editing was superb - the perfect blend of hand held and steady camera. In fact Michael Bay and Paul Greengrass could learn loads from this film (stop shaking the camera and making us sick!). The look of the film was also fantastic but the story was just a little dumb and it had lots of holes. Looking at the deleted scenes just made me exasperated. Why is it that director's take out what seem to be important scenes of exposition? Not as good as it could have been but it's opened the door for loads of sequels.

I really liked this and the prequel 28 days. Loved the initial scene and the subway. Fast zombies, awesome. Reminded me a bit of Dario Argenta. Sometimes the plot left a bit to be desired, especially around the dad, but then the horror made up for any plot pitfalls.

it's a good movie but there are better in the same genre, check out the "dead" series, it is better than the first, but does have plot holes, why would a civilian have access all areas on a military run town ?, as for other reviews of people complaing about the use of U.S. soldiers the reason for this would be, erm, well the British soldiers are all dead, hence there lack of actual screen time in this sequel. Robert Carlisle obviuosly lowered himself to star in a gore movie, and his name gives the movie some credit, with out him it would be 3 stars, and that is just on merit alone,

this movie was so stupid. i normally like this kind of thing but nothing that characters did made sense. Every decision they made was just retarded. i dont understand why people like these movies. they are trying to be realistic but with no logic. And for #$% sake keep the camera still for a second i cant see whats going on.

A truly grim movie about what our future could well hold in store. For all the action and gore, what makes this so spooky is that, unlike many movies in this genre it is grounded in reality, making the mayhem feel that much more realistic.

Much better than the first one. Editing was really tight, with very few gaps. Jeremy Renner is one of the most criminally underrated actors in Hollywood, as he is good in everything (he was also the best actor in SWAT). Rose Byrne is also very good. Hard not to say nice things about a film with flamethrowers, helicopters, snipers and zombies. Worth a go.

Not as bad as I thought it would be. Set six months after the events in '28 Days Later', this film written and directed by a different crew There are similar themes: hope, despair, broken families and military control gone wrong. Especially Military Control gone wrong, this time being US soldiers not British. This one is much more violent and gorier than the first film, the infected much more frightening as you follow the story of two children returning to England to help rebuild a country which is then driven into chaos due to the actions of their father. BTW see 'Intacto', a brillant spanish movie done by same director Fresnadillo.

I am a big fan of 28days later and wasn't disappointed with its sequel. However, I have to say that the storyline failed slightly when the USA were brought in to govern Britain with their own "supposedly"...better? military (yeah right!!) - get real, that really stood out to myself, my friends etc....Ok, leaving that behind, It was a great story it diverted from the original, and continued on with the story in a really interesting way. The film still keeps you on the edge of your seat and has quite a few horrific images which I believe are needed to make the story believable. You sincerely believe this could all happen....well, maybe..but it really has you thinking (thinking about keeping the USA away from everything LOL). I enjoyed the fact that they strayed from traditional storylines too, keeping it more interesting and keeping you guessing. If you liked the Omega Man (and soon to be released I am Legend) this is another one you shouldn't miss.

If you'd told me that this was a zombie movie I'd avoid it by a mile. But the fact is, even though there are no zombies, it really is in that genre. But it is very good. Gets off to a fast start and manages to keep the pace and the tension going throughout the whole movie. Watching the 1st installment (28 days) is not necessary, this one can stand alone. Well acted and directed with a plot line that's believable enough to not spoil the experience.

Demonstrates the catastrophic population impact of individual motivation in any epidemic scenario. An eerie prediction of quarantine and its limitations in the event of an outbreak. The storyline is a simple one of survival, and I can appreciate that some may find it a rather monotonous killing spree with blood and gore galore.

I have seen the original 28 days later before and totaly loved it and usally sequals are never as good as the 1st ones but this sequal breaks the infamous trend by improving on the 1st one. The rage virus seams to have died off and people are placed in a secruty system run by soliders but 2 kids of whom one wants a picture of his mother cross into the forbidden zone and they bring back those 2 plus their mother of whom is infected. Its not long before the rage rears its zombie head again and all hell breaks loose. Brillant acting by all and superb direction throws in new ideas and exciting plot twists. The effects are even more gory then the 1st and really pushes the boundries of the MA rating which is welcome to see as before too many MA films wimped out on the blood and gore in the past but it had a strange ending leading to more sequals. Lets pray this does not turn into another sequal fest like Friday the 13th. Def worth a rental.
