Found this better than the first. Some jumpy bits, along with lots of red stuff. makes for a good horror movie
It as an ok movie but it had a strange ending.
No where near as good as the original, but they never are, are they.
In my opinion, much better than 28 Days Later. Still as gory and brutal but more enjoyable.
An apocalypse - zombie hybrid. Not bad
I enjoyed this better than the first (28 days Later), though it wasn't great.
2.5 stars
If you really want to see how to do Zombies properly I suggest reading Feed by Mira Grant (now that would be a great book to turn into a zombie movie...)
Great zombie sequel! Takes the same problem in new directions and has some genuinely scary moments.
Awesome Scary movie. Must watch 28 days first to get the idea of the story.
Sorry ! - This movie should never have seen the light of day. I feel sorry for the actors, It depended on shock tactics, with plenty of blood and gore, unfortunately it did not do the cast justice, and they should have pulled the plug before being seen in this tawdry flick. It is all very well to paint a picture of horrible circumstance, but some continuity would have been nice.
Can you change your rating scores to include negatives ??.
I thought it was pretty good, although Dawn of the Dead (both the original and remake) was better. Lost a bit of the "social commentary" bit of the first movie, but gained more action in its place.
Oh look, zombies... again.
Nothing new or innovative. If you have seen zombie moves before, imagine watching all of them simultaneously while half asleep. THAT is the feeling you will get from this one!
I for got how boring this movie was. Im Glad that I never went to the movies to this,as time waster and money.
Loved this one better than the first...Next time i wont watch it while eating my dinner though haha.
Good movie, has some gawry bits. The ending may suggest another sequel.
Disappointing sequel to "28 Days Later". I should know better than to expect total plausibility in a sci-fi flick but this was ludicrous to the point of laughability. Robert Carlyle's children -one looked like a supermodel and the other was totally untalented-were asked to do things that no children would have even dreamed of. Rose Byrne was wasted. Too many dark scenes-and the hand held camera made it nearly impossible to tell what the f---was going on.
30 minutes of this was enough to press the STOP button.
I so loved the original 28 Days Later but felt this one just didn't hang together. It's odd really because the editing was superb - the perfect blend of hand held and steady camera. In fact Michael Bay and Paul Greengrass could learn loads from this film (stop shaking the camera and making us sick!). The look of the film was also fantastic but the story was just a little dumb and it had lots of holes. Looking at the deleted scenes just made me exasperated. Why is it that director's take out what seem to be important scenes of exposition? Not as good as it could have been but it's opened the door for loads of sequels.
Understood this one more than the first. I couldn't even work out what was wrong with them all in the first. Very bloody. Good one to watch if you like horror.
I really liked this and the prequel 28 days. Loved the initial scene and the subway. Fast zombies, awesome. Reminded me a bit of Dario Argenta. Sometimes the plot left a bit to be desired, especially around the dad, but then the horror made up for any plot pitfalls.
Better than the first one. Was expecting it to be better with Robert Carlyle but really, don't bother. Watchable but only just.
it's a good movie but there are better in the same genre, check out the "dead" series, it is better than the first, but does have plot holes, why would a civilian have access all areas on a military run town ?, as for other reviews of people complaing about the use of U.S. soldiers the reason for this would be, erm, well the British soldiers are all dead, hence there lack of actual screen time in this sequel. Robert Carlisle obviuosly lowered himself to star in a gore movie, and his name gives the movie some credit, with out him it would be 3 stars, and that is just on merit alone,
Promising movie with a dismal, hopeless ending.
Robert Carlyle is a great actor. He must have been hard pressed to take on an assignment like this film which is right from the bottom of the barrel.
Simply terrible script and performance
The worst Robert Carlyle movie movie I've ever seen.
Not as good as the precursor but okay
take 28 days later, swap english actors with american actors (and a few more zombie movie cliches) and you have 28 weeks later, still a good watch.
this movie was so stupid. i normally like this kind of thing but nothing that characters did made sense. Every decision they made was just retarded. i dont understand why people like these movies. they are trying to be realistic but with no logic. And for #$% sake keep the camera still for a second i cant see whats going on.
i lasted 38 seconds with this movie - way to grusome for me
A really terrific sequal. I don't generally like horror films much but I really enjoyed this.
Really liked this movie ,I think it was better than the first one ,I look at Robert Carlyle in a whole different light now,it was good from the beginning to end
Did not liked it one bit, too much gore. I liked the part where Don had to flee and leave his wife behind, the struggle that he has to go through and what he had to tell his children later on.
However the story started to go downhill from there on.
Same story only this time with americans. Thats about all
Fast Paced, seat of your pants stuff. A little graphic for some no doubt, but if you can get past the blood, highly entertaining from start to finish
I thought this was a truly good movie,But the Plot tended to stay a little.
loved the movie i also like number 1 but i think this was a bit better
A truly grim movie about what our future could well hold in store. For all the action and gore, what makes this so spooky is that, unlike many movies in this genre it is grounded in reality, making the mayhem feel that much more realistic.
very rare for a follow up movie to be better than the first. But this is one.Not
for the sqeamish.
Disappointing, over the top & overworked sequel...this simple sci-fi plot could run and run..."28 Centuries Later"?!
Quite scary, excellent horror theme, not one to watch with the kids before bed time. I did like seeing the Americans take a bit of a kicking..... no glory for them in this one! Scary concept, but almost possible in reality....
No as good as No. 1. London looks great but there're no surprises in the plot.
Excellent movie, better than 28 Days Later, more fast paced i thought. Good extras on the DVD.
Half the plot and twice the gore of 28 Days. A pretty ridiculous film all around with no real acting or story to speak of.
i didn't see the first and if i had i probably would have given this the flick. yes its scary and gory but it is missing something. and clearly not finished, guess you have to watch number 3 if you can be bothered.
A dissapointing sequel to what was originally a good solid horror film with a touch of that english reality they are so good at. It seems the spanish influence has in turn been influenced by the american direction. I hope that is it and that we never see 28 months later.
Not enjoyable - too graphic plus wandering plot only setting itself up for anothe sequal.
Excellent!!! Absolutely fantastic...as good if not better than 28 days..great story line and fantastic special effects.
Much better than the first one. Editing was really tight, with very few gaps.
Jeremy Renner is one of the most criminally underrated actors in Hollywood, as he is good in everything (he was also the best actor in SWAT).
Rose Byrne is also very good.
Hard not to say nice things about a film with flamethrowers, helicopters, snipers and zombies.
Worth a go.
Good Movie. Some interesting twists.
A good zombie movie. I did not love the first 28 weeks movie and felt similarly about this one. Very frightening, lots of scary bits but for me the ending felt weak. Left wide open for 28 months later.
Absolutely brilliant. I was scepticle about a sequel but they've done a great job. The start will get you hooked, the twists throughout the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat. Would recommend this for anyone.
Do not watch if you don't like sicko movies
absolutely awful, mindless, gross
This one was just lame and predictable, the movie just focused on blood and gore, there wasn't any suspense. Acting was great, the content just wasn't there. I wouldn't bother watching it.
awesome movie, not as good as the 1st but still great.. however does the person who writes the description for this movie actually watch the movies cause this the second movie i seen that the blurb is completely wrong compared to the actual movie.
Very gruesome, lots of blood and gore.
Not the type of film I would normally watch. Typical zombie type film.
Hmmm... something made me think this was a wasted opportunity. Not as scary as the first, and the whole "angry zombie" thing seems a bit blase now. Glad I saw it though.
I watched the first 5 minutes and turned it off due to the nature of the violence contained within
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
Set six months after the events in '28 Days Later', this film written and directed by a different crew
There are similar themes: hope, despair, broken families and military control gone wrong. Especially Military Control gone wrong, this time being US soldiers not British.
This one is much more violent and gorier than the first film, the infected much more frightening as you follow the story of two children returning to England to help rebuild a country which is then driven into chaos due to the actions of their father.
BTW see 'Intacto', a brillant spanish movie done by same director Fresnadillo.
I wasn't that impressed with this movie at all.
A bit gruesome, lots of blood and gore. Storyline not too bad, kept me wanting to see the end even though I had trouble watching some parts.
Wow. A great sequel. Not as full on as the first one though. Characters don't continue on from the first. Storyline is still spine chilling. Camera work is again excellent.
loved this film and that is surprise because i wasn't a big fan of the first one but this one just blew my mind with the gore and the cool infected people and so much blood just one great film.
I thought the first instalment was pretty good entertainment, but then they brought in the Yanks. Panic , paranoia and gore set in. Don't bother.
Similar to Day of The Dead. Dont mind this adaptation...modern day revisited
awesome. worht it in every way
Thoroughly enjoyed the first 28 days later and this one is just as great - worth it if you can handle it.
Lots of blood and gore!!!
Would not recommend this movie..have not seen the original 28 days later..a fair bit of gore and predictable plot...Robert Carlisle can do better...don't bother!!!
I am a big fan of 28days later and wasn't disappointed with its sequel. However, I have to say that the storyline failed slightly when the USA were brought in to govern Britain with their own "supposedly"...better? military (yeah right!!) - get real, that really stood out to myself, my friends etc....Ok, leaving that behind, It was a great story it diverted from the original, and continued on with the story in a really interesting way. The film still keeps you on the edge of your seat and has quite a few horrific images which I believe are needed to make the story believable. You sincerely believe this could all happen....well, maybe..but it really has you thinking (thinking about keeping the USA away from everything LOL).
I enjoyed the fact that they strayed from traditional storylines too, keeping it more interesting and keeping you guessing. If you liked the Omega Man (and soon to be released I am Legend) this is another one you shouldn't miss.
Not bad. Nowhere near as intense or suspensful as the original, and there is a few holes in the storyline but still worth watching.
If you'd told me that this was a zombie movie I'd avoid it by a mile. But the fact is, even though there are no zombies, it really is in that genre. But it is very good. Gets off to a fast start and manages to keep the pace and the tension going throughout the whole movie. Watching the 1st installment (28 days) is not necessary, this one can stand alone. Well acted and directed with a plot line that's believable enough to not spoil the experience.
Both the original 28 days, and this movie have been interesting studies on human behaviour. This movie could almost be sub-titled "When try to save other people is a bad thing". It's also a pretty good zombie movie with lots of running chasing, biting and scratching. Oh and blood...
Enjoyed it, one of the scariest movies I have seen.
Demonstrates the catastrophic population impact of individual motivation in any epidemic scenario. An eerie prediction of quarantine and its limitations in the event of an outbreak. The storyline is a simple one of survival, and I can appreciate that some may find it a rather monotonous killing spree with blood and gore galore.
Awesome movie really loved it.
Lacks any of the soul and interesting story line of 28 Days Later.Terrible, don't bother!
Like all good zombie movies there's a relevant social theme, you know you're in trouble when the Americans come to save the day. Great complacency kills message. One of the rare occasions when a sequel is as good as it's parent.
A real on the edge of your seat movie it was real good but next time I see a movie like that I will not be seeing it before I go to bed..thanks guys it was great.
Why would anyone bother with this trash. Am disgusted and consider it a ripoff.
This has all you need for a good infected movie but it was missing the scary bits. Still a good one though.
More gore than the last one I think? Loved it...
Great sequel to the hit 28 Days Later; this one might even surpass the original!
Very good. I enjoyed the storyline.
Enjoyed it as much as the first movie, was a good zombie flick, looking forward to 28 Months Later.
Definitely worth a look for those into Zombie movies. Not as good as the first one though.
lf you liked 28 days late you will love this second effort, really wonderful, as good a second up as any of the greats. lf you like zombie movies you will love this series, great extra bits as well. Three thumbs up! Don't answer a knock at the door especially if it's a child!
Better than original 28 days...expecting next one. But what's the title?
28 years later?
Not really my cup of tea not much of a story line and a bit unbelievable...
Absolute fantastique especially if you have not seen the first one.
No worries working out the plot of the same sort of genre with out getting lost on the way.
Great actors & superb directors working with each other together to bring it all out to a great ending.
This was a shocking movie no story line just people who kill each other.
If the virus doesn't get you then the US military will...
nice movie, keeps on twisting, interesting end
I have seen the original 28 days later before and totaly loved it and usally sequals are never as good as the 1st ones but this sequal breaks the infamous trend by improving on the 1st one. The rage virus seams to have died off and people are placed in a secruty system run by soliders but 2 kids of whom one wants a picture of his mother cross into the forbidden zone and they bring back those 2 plus their mother of whom is infected. Its not long before the rage rears its zombie head again and all hell breaks loose. Brillant acting by all and superb direction throws in new ideas and exciting plot twists. The effects are even more gory then the 1st and really pushes the boundries of the MA rating which is welcome to see as before too many MA films wimped out on the blood and gore in the past but it had a strange ending leading to more sequals. Lets pray this does not turn into another sequal fest like Friday the 13th.
Def worth a rental.
Good movie. I actually liked it better than the first. Worth a watch..
Really good. Better then number 1 and a great spectacle on the big screen. I found it better then spidey and pirates 3.
