I enjoyed the movie, good imagination.
I didn't really like this movie much, it was way too far fetched, gory, and pretty stupid. I generally like 'disaster' movies but not this one.
A bit slow at times, was able to do my baking inbetween sceens, but overall not a bad film to watch.
Pretty routine zombie flick where the only noticeable difference to many others is that the zombies are fast movers. The film also lacks tension and a real sense of threat. 2.5 stars
Once you accept the premise that a virus could turn people into raving flesh eaters in seconds, you can begin to enjoy the atmosphere in the film. You get to care for the characters, so it's engaging at that level. Towards the latter part of the film, it gets a little bit like the Lord of the Flies where a new society is created and the things they do makes some sense for a new civilisation. Great scenes of London where there's no one around and I wonder how they got the shots.
28 Days Later. It was an okay movie, though i only watched about 20 mins and i just had no interest. But the disc itself came in excellent condition. Very happy with the service of Quickflix!!!
Meh. If you want a zombie movie check out the Aussie "Undead". Funny as hell and a sick storyline.
I liked it. The atmosphere was chilling, it was fast paced and thrilling at every turn. The acting is great and Danny Boyle's vision makes it a worthwhile film. Im looking forward to seeing '28 Weeks Later', then '28 Months Later' due out in 2011.

Excellent first hour. This is one of the best "zombie" movies ever and has a realism that others have lacked. Danny Boyle should be proud of this one. The filming (on video) is gritty and thrilling. The actors-particularly Brendan Gleeson-are fantastic. Scenes of deserted London are awesome. Some of the dialogue is hard to pick up and the last third is a bit too frantic but a superior film. Can't wait to see the sequel though I'm bound to be disappointed.
This is a wicked movie made all the better as it has Robert Carlisle in it.This movie has you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The follow up,28 weeks later is as good,Highly recommended, both of these.
Watchable, wouldn't watch it again though. Pretty average, some of the actors were pretty average. One of those horror movies thats not really believable.
In my opinon this is the slowest and uneventful sci-fi/horror movie I have ever seen. Through the whole movie I was waiting for something to happen but it just never seemed to get there. The ending was as bad as the rest of the movie, leaving you with more questions than answers. I would give it a -10 rating.
You just can't beat a zombie movie, and this is one of the best. Not only blood and gore and special effects but actually a terrific plot and lots of suspense, and best of all no annoying American Accents.
This movie is "I am Legend" / "Omega Man" with a few elements from "Day of the Trifids" and "12 Monkeys" thown in. I don't doubt that this movie was in production well before the release of "I am Legend", so it is not a "copy" but it is difficult not to compare. "28 days" delves deeper into the nature and relationships of the survivors. "Legend" has the better special effects and shock value. I'm not sure it is a "horror" movie. The story would be hard to tell without the less pleasant elements. As a movie it is worth seeing.
best zombie movie i've seen, the emotion thats created in some scenes (eg. deserted london and when he goes crazy on the army guys) is intense. original and the best
Fascinating premise (if a bit of an old chestnut) and starts well, but soon descends into predictable bilge. Silly, sensational and empty, it's like a long and bad episode of Dr Who....(who seems to be in it incidentally). Some nice scenery alleviates the dross though some daleks would have helped.
A great film, particularly for this genre. Athough a zombie, end-of-the-world, gore fest, this film has genuine moments of compassion and human drama. Long periods detail the emotion of the character's journey. It's a superb film that happens to have some gore.
If you're after a splatter film, don't bother. If you're after a film that scares from start to finish, don't bother. But if you're after a well-written script with believable characters in an impossible situation, then get it!
A rather unsatisfying film, overall. The abrupt ending didn't help either.
Long and Slow.
When the action winds up, it's too late.
Could have been much better. Massively overrated.
Pretty good entertainment but don't bother with the sequel.
Reminiscent of the 1970's TV series "the Survivors" in places, but only half as good! Fills in a rainy afternoon (if it ever rains again!).
Not the type of movie I enjoy.
lf you like survival drama horror, like Cabin Fever or a zombie movie, the infected will do the job. Great load of extra bits as well. lt makes you look at blood in another light!
Interesting to see some found this movie too gory, actually took a star off for not being gory enough. Great curiosity killed the cat theme with scientific research and animal welfare groups unleashing rage, and the band of renegade soldiers that offer false hope. The worst of humankind verses the best of humankind represented by a small group of uninfected.
Horrible movie. Implausible storyline and bathed in blood from start to finish. The ultimate was seeing someone with his fingers stuck in someone elses eye sockets. I turned it off at that point. ? don't mind a bit of violence if the story demands it but the raison d?tre of this movie seems to be to show as much blood as possible.
Good movie. The scary thing is that it could happen. Research is important for the human race but interference could be devastating. The closure is very realistic. It left me with hope and maybe a sequel...
Good acting, great cinematography. The story was fairly predictable and, frankly, a little boring in that it once again depicts a depressing future for humanity.
well directed & not too bad a plot with a few interesting twists.
The plot of this movie has promise, but I did not like the style of the story telling.
It also had the feel of a cheap horror flick and was not very believable.
interesting concept but they didn't finish it.
its alright if your into that kind of film but for me it did nothing. I didn't even bother watching the whole film, absolute waste of my time.
good take on an old theme
British made horror/zombie flick. A bit silly but scary if you like that sort of thing.
Maybe because it is a UK production, but definitely one of the best Zombie movies made.
Modern day zombie movie, along the lines of the classic 'Dawn of the Dead'. Great start, very chilling. Lost it a bit towards the end.
Great to look at, well-acted, intelligent script and a good fright or two.
Very worthwhile if you have spent some time in London as the early scenes make you wonder if the city streets could ever be like that!
the movie had some great concepts, but too many ideas all intermingled and fell apart
One of the best movies to come out in ages. Was shot on a digital video camera, which make the visual quality different. Great special effects and superb acting. Danny Boyle is a cult director and this movie deserves that status too.
An awesome flick, second case of mad cow in US this week, will make you think!!
Awesome flick, not far from reality, mad cow disease just hit the US this week, watch this flick, will make you think!!
OK, Just! Entertaining but not much to rave about.
Not a patch on "Resident Evil". Too predictable.
Great film, worked in a perfect double for the weekend with Dawn of the Dead.
Outbreak meets Undead. Entertaining enough without being the greatest show on Earth. Previous reviewers need to lighten up a little!
Starts out really well but fades into predictability.
A fantastic Movie, quite realistic althjough it is a Sci-fi. Definite worth a look !
Not bad at all. Like everyone else says, the zombies are disappointing, but they're not really zombies though are they? Some fantastic moments, but a stuck-on ending.
Seeing london empty was a bit of a shock, but this movie has scary bits in all the right places its good to see the good guys win against the rage victims.
Really a movie in two halves. The first part deals with the initial shock of a virus decimating the population and has some wonderful scenes of London as a deserted city and how a handful of survivors react to this complete change in their lives. Unfortunately the second half is rubbish and becomes a sort of dawn of the dead zombie type movie. Overall worth watching just for the first hour.
Worth a look for zombie and gore fans, although probably best not to watch during dinner.
Interesting twist towards the end, just when you think they're safe.
I found the photography eerie particularly showing the streets of London totally empty.
Better to watch your toe nails grow.
For those old enough to remember the UK Survivors TV series of the 70's - take the edge up a notch and suspend your belief that a virus can't act that fast and you will really enjoy this.
For this genre, it's well up there as one of the better films.
The plot stretches credibility to the max, and is very similar to "Day of the Triffids", but with a twist. It's your end of the world meets zombies genre. However, it is pretty scary, if predictable.
All seems the same to me. Seen one virus movie seen them all.
This is a really bad film. I cannot understand how someone can give this more than 1 star! This is a b grade movie at best. The plot is old, the acting bad and the quality of the movie is shocking. If you want to see a movie about biological threats, see resident evil or outbreak. avoid this movie at all costs!!!
Hmmm... dunno. I think I've been generous the the "2" rating. A bit too gruesome for my liking. Acting was a bit weak and although it was a good concept, it was a bit on the boring side and had a weak ending. On the whole - a bit contrived.
Great movie! The premise is completely stupid, but the movie itself is excellent, especially the second half.
Entertaining, but not too over the top like some horror movies.
Left things open for a sequel.
Really interesting story and maybe not so far fetched in terms of possible biological warfare. A little disjointed at times. Good sets.
Very slow and quite predictable!
Well made, a little unusual.
ummmmmmm it had so much promise - but no.
Violent, dark and depressing. Hope nothing like this ever happens. Amazing what some peoples imaginations are like to write such a script.
Watched this movie last night, and found it hard to watch. Not because of the gore, but the movie starts at a hundred miles an hour, continues on for an hour like it's lost, then finishes without a whimper. The viewer is left unsatisfied because there is no closure. An ordinary story line with B grade effects, and not a movie I would recommend unless you were really interested in the subject matter. 1 Paw.
Well, this has to be seen to be believed. In a similar vein to 'The Quiet Earth', the show deals with the possibility of modern day cities becoming ghost towns in a matter of hours - powerful imagery, but slightly unbelievable on the small screen - would have to be seen on the big screen to appreciate the desolate, wide open and empty spaces, where there should be hustle and bustle...
The gore is well done and fairly scary - the storyline is believable too in a post-appocalyptic way... deals with human nature - human desire, greed, selfishness and competition in a brilliant way...
Just a great flick - try to see it on a big screen - if u have the chance (and invite me over !!!)
I liked this movie very much because when I left the cinema, it actually felt like I was in the movie! A very good after efect.
A unique take on an old theme. I enjoyed this and recommend it to anyone who likes Night of the Living Dead, the awesmoe QLD film undead or anything in the zombie genre.
