Transmitted in a drop of blood and devastating within seconds, the virus locks those infected into a permanent state of murderous rage. Within 28 days the country is overwhelmed and a handful of survivors begin their attempts to salvage a future, little realising that the deadly virus is not the only thing that threatens them...

I didn't really like this movie much, it was way too far fetched, gory, and pretty stupid. I generally like 'disaster' movies but not this one.

Pretty routine zombie flick where the only noticeable difference to many others is that the zombies are fast movers. The film also lacks tension and a real sense of threat. 2.5 stars

Once you accept the premise that a virus could turn people into raving flesh eaters in seconds, you can begin to enjoy the atmosphere in the film. You get to care for the characters, so it's engaging at that level. Towards the latter part of the film, it gets a little bit like the Lord of the Flies where a new society is created and the things they do makes some sense for a new civilisation. Great scenes of London where there's no one around and I wonder how they got the shots.

Meh. If you want a zombie movie check out the Aussie "Undead". Funny as hell and a sick storyline.

I liked it. The atmosphere was chilling, it was fast paced and thrilling at every turn. The acting is great and Danny Boyle's vision makes it a worthwhile film. Im looking forward to seeing '28 Weeks Later', then '28 Months Later' due out in 2011.

Excellent first hour. This is one of the best "zombie" movies ever and has a realism that others have lacked. Danny Boyle should be proud of this one. The filming (on video) is gritty and thrilling. The actors-particularly Brendan Gleeson-are fantastic. Scenes of deserted London are awesome. Some of the dialogue is hard to pick up and the last third is a bit too frantic but a superior film. Can't wait to see the sequel though I'm bound to be disappointed.

In my opinon this is the slowest and uneventful sci-fi/horror movie I have ever seen. Through the whole movie I was waiting for something to happen but it just never seemed to get there. The ending was as bad as the rest of the movie, leaving you with more questions than answers. I would give it a -10 rating.

You just can't beat a zombie movie, and this is one of the best. Not only blood and gore and special effects but actually a terrific plot and lots of suspense, and best of all no annoying American Accents.

This movie is "I am Legend" / "Omega Man" with a few elements from "Day of the Trifids" and "12 Monkeys" thown in. I don't doubt that this movie was in production well before the release of "I am Legend", so it is not a "copy" but it is difficult not to compare. "28 days" delves deeper into the nature and relationships of the survivors. "Legend" has the better special effects and shock value. I'm not sure it is a "horror" movie. The story would be hard to tell without the less pleasant elements. As a movie it is worth seeing.

Fascinating premise (if a bit of an old chestnut) and starts well, but soon descends into predictable bilge. Silly, sensational and empty, it's like a long and bad episode of Dr Who....(who seems to be in it incidentally). Some nice scenery alleviates the dross though some daleks would have helped.

A great film, particularly for this genre. Athough a zombie, end-of-the-world, gore fest, this film has genuine moments of compassion and human drama. Long periods detail the emotion of the character's journey. It's a superb film that happens to have some gore. If you're after a splatter film, don't bother. If you're after a film that scares from start to finish, don't bother. But if you're after a well-written script with believable characters in an impossible situation, then get it!

Interesting to see some found this movie too gory, actually took a star off for not being gory enough. Great curiosity killed the cat theme with scientific research and animal welfare groups unleashing rage, and the band of renegade soldiers that offer false hope. The worst of humankind verses the best of humankind represented by a small group of uninfected.

Horrible movie. Implausible storyline and bathed in blood from start to finish. The ultimate was seeing someone with his fingers stuck in someone elses eye sockets. I turned it off at that point. ? don't mind a bit of violence if the story demands it but the raison d?tre of this movie seems to be to show as much blood as possible.

Really a movie in two halves. The first part deals with the initial shock of a virus decimating the population and has some wonderful scenes of London as a deserted city and how a handful of survivors react to this complete change in their lives. Unfortunately the second half is rubbish and becomes a sort of dawn of the dead zombie type movie. Overall worth watching just for the first hour.

Watched this movie last night, and found it hard to watch. Not because of the gore, but the movie starts at a hundred miles an hour, continues on for an hour like it's lost, then finishes without a whimper. The viewer is left unsatisfied because there is no closure. An ordinary story line with B grade effects, and not a movie I would recommend unless you were really interested in the subject matter. 1 Paw.

Well, this has to be seen to be believed. In a similar vein to 'The Quiet Earth', the show deals with the possibility of modern day cities becoming ghost towns in a matter of hours - powerful imagery, but slightly unbelievable on the small screen - would have to be seen on the big screen to appreciate the desolate, wide open and empty spaces, where there should be hustle and bustle... The gore is well done and fairly scary - the storyline is believable too in a post-appocalyptic way... deals with human nature - human desire, greed, selfishness and competition in a brilliant way... Just a great flick - try to see it on a big screen - if u have the chance (and invite me over !!!)
