Slightly above average disaster movie I guess, but way too long for the very basic plotline. The bit in the extras about how they made the movie and some of the special effects was more interesting than the movie itself.

Absolutely nothing new - in story or special effects. Watchable (just) and way too long.

The only positive I can think of in relation to this film is the computer animation, some of which is excellent, some not convincing at all. Otherwise a waste of time. The characters race from one stupid, unbelievable catastrophe to the next in endless succession, always escaping just in the nick of time. Never knew time had so many nicks! The ridiculous story-line was juvenile. The writers used a lot of pseudo-science, and a bit of pseudo-philosophy, in the script (can't really call it a plot) but obviously didn't have even the tiniest understanding of any of it - totally unconvincing. Made me laugh more than some comedies I've seen. I suppose you could call that a positive of sorts but the laughs were there for the wrong reasons. If you watch this switch your brain off for a couple of hours, you won't need it. It might entertain briefly but not for the intended reasons.

I enjoyed this BluRay disc for its outstanding audio, featuring many periods of extensive use of the surrounds. Perhaps not the most stimulating of story lines, but great visually and surround audio.
