Robson Green in his fumbling kind of Columbo mannelr lgets to the bottom of things as always he has his struggles with the powers to be but in the end he gets through to the bad guys and leads the police to solving the crime.

I only started watching this on TV about 3years ago & have enjoyed it very much. It is certainly superior in writing, storylines, acting & directing than most of the other offerings in the genre on television.
Going back to the very beginning fills in a lot of the questions I have about the characters & their various relationships to one another.
I am sure that those who have watched from the very start would still enjoy revisiting Dr.Hill in his early days. You may be surprised by what you have forgotten.

This is an excellent crime series. A definite watch for anyone who likes psychological thrills combined with police drama. The crimes are gruesome and the serial killers are terrifying. Great TV. Highly recommended.

Robson Green's superb offhand characterisation of Tony Hill shows the viewer that there are many hours of wonderful television coming. Highly recommended.

The first Wire in the Blood, introducing clinical psychologist Dr Hill. A very gruesome episode, with torture perhaps even beyond the capabilities of occupying forces in the Middle East. Putting aside the gory bits and sicko behaviour though, this episode is worth viewing if only to see the beginning of the fascinating professional reliance the detective and the psychologist develop - later developing into a personal need.
