The names might have changed to protect the guilty, but this rather standard story moves everyone from the merry old Land of Oz to the OZ (Outer Zone) in some kind of lame attempt to update the narrative of the original. Zooey Deschnanel does a great job with the material she has to work with and stands out amongst the rather pedestrian performances, particularly the title character who is hopelessly miscast. The story follows a rather familiar arc, so there is nothing particularly inventive or original here. This three part story comes on two discs, two parts on one disc and a paltry one part on the second (no special features), but I suppose I should be grateful it wasn't any longer, because it really became a chore to watch by the end..
Epic Movie. I have seen this so many times and i love it more every time i see it.it brings The Wizard Of OZ to life in the modern era with a brand new amazingly done twist. A must see.
was great - long though - look forward to Disc 2 - pity did not come with Disc 1
We did not watch this one as we wanted the entire movie in one go.
A poorly acted modern day version of the Wizard of Oz.
Sorry to disagree with you all but I don't know why they bothered making this film. Completely lacked any humour or charm.
Best described as The Wizard of Oz meets The Matrix.
It's a modern re-telling of the Oz story that's reminiscent of the original story, but not afraid to go in different directions.
It's got the standard mix of evil and violence as seen in modern films, so this isn't one for young children. Adults, however, will enjoy the tale.
I really enjoyed it, cant wait for disc 2
Enjoyable cyber-twist on the world of oz. Worth a look.
Awesome! Everything is done wonderfully. A must see for anyone, not just fans of the old. Can't wait to see the following two episodes, had me hooked! Truly different!!
This is a good movie. Though it is rated PG some children may find this movie a little scary - mine certainly did.
This is one of the best movies I think I have ever seen! It was all so clever the way they intertwined the original Wizard of Oz (which I loved) with this new cyber like world. The acting was brilliant, absolutely brilliant!! Everyone was perfectly cast. I especially loved Kathleen Robertson as Azkadellia. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to get lost for a few (okay 4 & 1/2) hours. Absolutely loved it!
