The perfectly peculiar village of Dibley is in need of a new vicar after Reverend Pottle, aged 102, dies quite unexpectedly. Instead of the standard replacement sporting a beard, a bible and bad breath they get The Reverend Geraldine Granger, " a babe with a bob cut and a magnificent bosom".Recently ordained, Geraldine is very enthusiastic but she needs all her diplomatic skills to deal with the inbred village idiots and eccentrics that make up her congregation. Armed with a sharp wit and a healthy supply of chocolate, Geraldine brings an hysterical new outlook on life, love and the Church of England to the town's strange but lovable inhabitants.Includes all the episodes from Series 1 of The Vicar of Dibley: Arrival* Songs of Praise* Community Spirit* The Window and the Weather* Election* Animals.

I have being wanting to watch this for a while, the tv networks always repeat the same episodes, it is such a laugh, my wife and i thoroughly enjoyed every episode, If you want a show that takes the miki of things, with out the foul language, its a must watch for good brittish comedy.

Even better than I remembered. Clever, lyrical and able to laugh at itself. Wonderful comedy/satire.

What more can be said about these fine British comedies, characters so well formed and scripts second to non.

One of the best comedy series to come out of Britain. Dawn French has to be an English national treasure. This portrayal of life in a remote English village is as funny as it gets. All the characters are brilliant and I will continue to laugh until my sides ache every time I watch it.
