I'd seen this before years ago and enjoyed the series, now I just found it depressing. Tells the story of a group of women caught up in the Japanese occupation of Singapore. The first part was interesting as it revolves around the lives of the women in Singapore but when they went to the prison camp I stopped watching as it dragged on.

I remember watching this series on Aunty when it first appeared and was delighted with the opportunity to watch it again, it is still as good as the first time, but perhaps I look at it with a more critical eye because the camps are just too neat! Fabulous

A truly memorable series depicting a war time story of women when Singapore was taken over by Japan in WW2.Brings out topics ie:of hardships.starvation, the human spirit, euthansia and the desperate conditions suffered by these women. Make sure you see this collection in order.
