Mild sexual references and coarse language

Director: Dan Zeff
Actors: Alex Kingston, Hugh Bonneville, Gemma Arterton, Lindsay Duncan, Jemima Rooper, Elliot Cowan

A thoroughly modern heroine threatens to ruin one of the world's greatest literary love stories in this ingenious reinvention of Jane Austen's Pride And Prejudice. Hollywood actress Alex Kingston (ER; Croupier) stars alongside an acclaimed cast, including Hugh Bonneville (Notting Hill; Iris), Lindsay Duncan (Rome) and new Bond girl Gemma Arterton (Quantum Of Solace; St. Trinians). Bored bank worker Amanda Price (Jemima Rooper The Black Dahlia; As If; Hex) literally becomes lost in her favourite Austen book, after she finds a strange portal in her bathroom and swaps places with its heroine Elizabeth Bennet. As she gets to know the Bennet family and encounters the famous Mr Darcy (Elliot Cowan The Golden Compass), how can she keep this celebrated romance on track?

Awful. I loved Pride and Prejudice, but this is just stupid and painful. especially the lead character. wished I'd never watched it.

Really enjoyed this movie. Though I felt that if you were not familiar with Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice you would miss so much and have only a pale impression of what it was all about. Typical understated british humour.

I loved this so much- watched it on a rainy Sunday when I was sick and I didn't realise it was a mini series, I wish there was more! I need to go buy this. It's very funny- the voice over gets a bit silly but it's still funny and there's plenty of eye candy.

I often find period dramas a bit yawn-worthy but I loved this It was warm and satisfying like hot chocolate on a cold night.

Absolutly love this series and it is my first choice when I need and Austen fix! Jemima Rooper is perfect for the role of Amanda Price and I would highly recomend this to anyone who loves Jane Austen and doesn't mind the thought of her characters going a little off 'script'!!!

I first watched this when it aired on Australian TV. Each time the episode finished, I couldn't wait for the week to be over to be able to watch the next! Loved this so much that I bought the series :-)

Great show but Quickflix have it wrong - there are only two episodes on Disc 1 - running time 80 minutes NOT 250 as advertised. False and misleading. I'm not happy!

This is such a clever movie to combine the past and the present, all Austen fans would love to find that door in their bathroom. Jemima Rooper is perfectly cast.
