What can I say, it was the 80s and it was the greatest concert ever! Spandau Ballet, Phil Collins and Sade are outstanding. If you are a fan of the 80s and it's music, you will enjoy this DVD as it will transport you back in time.
I watched this event from start to finish in 1985 and when I just rewatched it, it had lost none of it's
power for me.
This was not just a massive rock show displaying the world's greatest talents, it was a heart moving event in history......I don't think we should ever lose
sight of the messages....................
I was 14 the year this took place and I stayed up for the full 24hrs that it was shown. Definately a concert not to be missed. Really enjoyed reliving the memories of that time.
Great to see band after band performing live
The best entertainment it is "the greatest show on Earth".
This was the greatest musical event of all time. Most of the performances are superb and really stand the test of time, clearly dominated on both the London and Philly stages by the best of Bristish from the 80's - check out the Freddie Mercury performance! The Americans are generally good but not in the same league, and there is a token effort from INXS at "Oz for Africa".
Check out the extras for the quite unbelievable international section, especially the Austrian and German band aid songs.
If you're into 80's music (or just 80's music superstars), this is worth a watch. Just don't expect brilliant picture and sound quality as recording technology has progressed a lot in 20 years!
