Late 19th Century life in the small Oxfordshire hamlet, Lark Rise, and its neighbouring market town, Candleford, continues to thro up secrets, confrontations and romance in a heart warming second series that includes a feature length Christmas special and 11 new episodes. Rich, enterprising and wolrdly, one time Lark Rise boy James Dowland arrives from London intending to put Candleford on the map. However, it isn't long before he is sparring with the spirited, yet suddenly flustered, Dorcas and stirring up emotions among the Lark Rise tenants.

Lark Rise to Candleford is captivating. It's so easy to get involved with all the characters, in fact, they seem just like 'family'. I thoroughly recommend this warm hearted series.

The whole series so far is excellent - a 'must see' for anyone who loves the romance and drama of period film like this.
