Timothy Olyphant (Damages and Deadwood) stars as a modern-day Western hero based on the character created from legendary crime novelist Elmore Leonard from his short story, Fire in the Hole.
Deputy Marshall Raylan Givens (Olyphant) is exiled to his hometown of Harlan County, Kentucky after the shooting of a Miami drug cartel hit man raises debate over his renegade style of law enforcement. Unfortunately, it isn’t long before the people he left behind begin to surface in the most unexpected ways. Raylan’s new job pursuing prison escapees, fugitive con men and a corrupt local sheriff has never been more intense.

This is one of the best TV series we've seen. It's exciting, humorous, full of real, filled out characters and crimes, and all set in Kentucky, land of backwoods stills and weed-growing and feuds. Music is great too. All in all, a great find!

I like to think Olyphant is playing the decendent of the same character he played in Deadwood, keeps me amused, good show so far, up to s4 in the states!

I was attracted by Elmore Leonard featuring as writer of the series. I shouldnt have been. This is a series that has no redeeming features. It is a western set in the present era with guns being the star attraction,typical of a large segment of US. culture. If you are a member of the NRA and/or a psychopath you may find something to like. Otherwise, ethically and morally, this is the work of a juvenile mind hoping to make money at any price.

Excellent series. Saw Olyphant in Deadwood which is why I chose Justified and wasn't disappointed. Throughly entertaining and can't wait to see series 2

I am enjoying Justified, it is a little different from most law style movies but they do things differently in the country. Great series.

Recommended for quality entertainment I watched the whole season 1 in one afternoon. Enjoyed Olyphant in the brilliant Deadwood series. He does not disappoint in this series, playing a similar role; deputy marshal that shoots to kill (in nearly every episode) but always JUSTIFIED. Quality support cast and storyline dealing with idiot Rednecks and violent criminals. Look forward to Season 2.
