Very enjoyable story line sticking to the novel, and easy to follow. Outstanding
Work portrayed by ‘Jessica’ actor. Excellent detail to the wardrobe of that era. I wish I had both discs of this mini- series delivered to me on the same day, so I wouldn't need to wait a 48 hours to watch part 2.
Enjoyed the movie, the acting ,view and costums are great.
Thoroughly enjoyed the book some years ago and could not put it down. Acting great, seems a bit slow but enjoying it and cant wait for the second episode coming next.
The book was a great read and the movie does not dissapoint.
loved rewatching this movie not as good as the book but close enough
A superb mini-series based on Bryce Courtnays book. It tells the story of Australia at the turn of the century around 2 sisters. A sub plot running thru it is of a young man who was brain damaged due to an injury sustained whilst defending the younger sister. he is eventually convicted of murder and hanged. The war runs thru the middle of it and the love of one man for the younger sister, although the older sister plots to marry him as he is heir to a great fortune. Enthralling watch and highly recommended.
Wonderful movie. Cried all the way through it.
Loved the book better. But thats usually the case, the book's always better than the film. Still a really good movie tho!
This is one of my fave books and the movie is great too ... everyone I have recommended this movie or book to loves it!
An enjoyable story although the heroine (Jessica) is just a bit too good and the rogues (Jack's parents) and a bit too wicked.
Entertaining looking forward to no.2
Great Australian movie, well acted. Can't wait for the second disc.
You Should not watch a movie after you have read the book
This is the second time I have seen this movie and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Good quality Aussie entertainment with superb acting.
My 14 year old daughter read this book and announced to the house that this was not to be missed!! Boy, was she right! I don't often get the time to read as much as I want, and to know the book has more, just makes me want to hide away to read it, but if like me you don't always have "you" time, see this movie, Fantastic!
Brilliant Australian drama period piece.
Girly film, the wife liked it though.
