Disraeli is a penetrating look at one of England’s most enigmatic and controversial figures - Benjamin Disraeli - a dandy, a womaniser and a Jewish man. Taking his seat in Parliament at 32, Benjamin Disraeli (Ian McShane) is nearly laughed out of the House by Gladstone, and thus begins an animosity spanning over 50 years. Realising he must conform to advance his career, he does so with a passion and comes to the attention of Queen Victoria. Within 15 years, he is Prime Minister, and has won the respect of the nation and the adoration of his queen. His life is the drama of a man, a nation and an empire at its height.
