Sent to the tiny island of Saint-Marie to solve an impossible murder, quintessentially British cop Richard Poole is a total fish out of water, he hates sun, sea and sand. Awaiting Richard is a ramshackle station and a very different type of policing. His new partner, DS Camille Bordey is instinctive, feisty and brilliant, and the rest of the team certainly have their own unique way of doing things. Great series! Ben Miller is excellent as the uptight British policeman, who turns up for work on the tropical island to which he has been transferred, in a three piece suit when everyone else is wearing Bermuda shorts. The reveal at the end of each episode is the classic Agatha Christie scenario, with all the suspects gathered together and the dastardly murder explained step by step. Sometimes bordering on the corny, but generally good-natured fun with a witty script and some good cameo roles for guests. Nice scenery too.
