Set in the boom town of Echuca, Australia's largest inland port in the 1890s, All the Rivers Run is the classic romantic tale of love between a woman, a man and the river that binds them together.

When the young Philadelphia Gordon is shipwrecked and off the coast of Australia and her parents are lost at sea, she is taken care of by her Uncle Charles and her austere Aunt Hester. On the journey to her Uncle's farm they stop off overnight in Echuca where Philadelphia makes her first acquaintance with the enchanting river boats of the Murray River and the equally charismatic Brenton Edwards.

Over the next few years, through a series of chance occurrences, the headstrong Philadelphia becomes part owner of a river boat. And that is just the start of the adventure.

Classic Australian drama. We used to do these so well in the days when a story could be told without swearing and sex.

Excellent to watch such a classic Australian drama, makes you wonder why there's not more of them.

What a beaut story. But watch out.... it is a long one and continues onto disk 2. However, at time of writing, quickflix do not have disk 2. So we did not get to see the last 2 hours. Very sad about that.

Interesting as a glimpse into Australian film and TV archive. Also displays early John Waters and Sigrid Thornton. But smaltzy, with thin scripting and frequently wooden acting.
