My rating is for the whole series. Although the quality from episode to episode may vary, on the whole it is a hilarious look at how a show like SNL might be put together. Full of laugh out loud moments, despite its occasional topical reference and in joke, this show is full if wacky inventiveness. High fiving a million angels.

Disc 1 of season 1 starts with the pilot where we get to meet the characters of 30 Rock. You can see that production values improve once we get past the pilot, and it gets funnier and funnier. Alec Baldwin is superb as the gravelly-voiced Jack Donaghy, and TIna Fey shines in her acting and writing. Great supporting cast, particularly Kenneth the page.

I did not find it funny at all. A hard day at work, every day, is not funny. The neurotic actor would not be kept on in the real world. It has the PC components, a negro, a woman who has to work too hard to succeed, and the poor stupid rich boss. Sad our society finds this funny. I will not continue watching the rest.

I thought this would be another silly American sit-com but it was thoroughly enjoyable and had me laughing out loud. Quotable.
