A brilliant film from director Takashi Miike, Ginji The Slasher has something for everyone as it cleverly combines the genres of drama, action, war, film mafia film and even throws in some humour. In post WWII, a failed kamikaze pilot (Ginji) attempts suicide but is saved by his superior officer (Kuroda), who then makes him a partner in his business. Upon discovering his boss' black market activities, Ginji goes wild with a samurai sword and massacres most of his employees. 50 years later, Ginji is released from prison and begins a new life, living in secret amongst the homeless.
