A seaplane lands on the island of Talua to unload three criminals, including Harry plus a young priest who has come to replace the aging, irascible Father Doonana. When a earthquake and volcanic eruption strike Talua, Father Doonan persuades the unco operative Harry to parachute with him into the mountains on a daring rescue mission to an isolated children's hospital.
